Middlesex 507-7 dec & 239-3 dec v Essex 295 & 19-0 (play starts 11:00)
The onus is on the Middlesex bowlers at Lord's to justify skipper James Franklin's decision not to enforce the follow-on against Essex.
He eventually declared their second innings with a lead of 451, but they were unable to separate the Essex openers in a six-over burst at the end of the third day's play.
Explaining their reasoning, head coach Richard Scott told BBC London: "We decided not to enforce the follow-on because our bowlers had sent down almost 100 overs in their first innings.
"We wanted to give them a session's rest so they could come back again strong and also have the chance of bowling fresh in the morning."
As usual, our BBC 5 live sports extra and BBC local radio commentary teams will be describing every ball bowled today - as well as musing on the state of the game and meaning of life. Please choose the match you're interested in from the commentary links at the top of the page and tune in.

Hampshire 455 v Yorkshire 231 & 178-3 (f/o) (play starts 11:00 BST)
Hampshire head coach Craig White says the decision to enforce the follow-on against his former club Yorkshire was a tough call.
Despite Brad Wheal suffering from a side strain - which may rule him out of the final day - White feels they are capable of working their way through the Yorkshire batting line-up.
"Four-day cricket is hard and if you want to win games like this when you make the other team follow on it is hard work," White told BBC Radio Solent.
"You spend a lot of time in the dirt but good teams do that and stick at it. We did think about having another knock but our bowlers were pretty fresh, their work loads weren't that big and we felt that we could put Yorkshire under pressure in a different way.
"If we're chasing 100-120 we would be happy about that, that's our aim."
Warwickshire 332 & 162-4 v Surrey 437 (Play starts 11:00 BST)
Warwickshire skipper Ian Bell believes Surrey are in a "really good place" despite leading his side to a 57-run lead with an unbeaten 68 on the third evening at Edgbaston.
The Bears were heavily beaten in their first two games of the summer - including by Surrey at The Oval - and need Bell to make a big score if they are to avoid defeat in this one.
"You always look back at games and the little one-per-centers. We should have got 400 in our first innings and maybe could have bowled a touch better," he told BBC WM.
"But we are fighting and that's all I can ask. This is our best performance of our season, without a shadow of doubt. Now we have to scrap again."
Meteorologically-speaking, things are about to take a turn for the worse - see weather presenter Ben Rich's video forecast below. We started round three of this summer's County Championship with nine matches - and now we have six, following victories for Notts, Worcestershire and Kent.
Apart from letting you know that six is the smallest positive integer which is neither a square number nor a prime number, I can also tell you that, potentially, we have a fascinating day ahead.
All four Division One games are still standing, with Essex facing a huge run chase at Lord's (which is looking superb this morning - see below), Yorkshire in trouble at the Ageas Bowl, Warwickshire struggling against Surrey and Lancashire and Somerset engaged in a contest that could go either way.
