Saturday, 1 July at the Home of Cricket will see Surrey face Nottinghamshire in what should be a cracking One-Day Cup final.

There's not long to wait until that game, but there's even less time to wait until your next cricket fix here on BBC Sport.

The small matter of India v Pakistan in the Champions Trophy final takes place from 10:15 BST on Sunday and then the County Championship returns on Monday for its next round.

But, they've got a lot to be optimistic about for the rest of this season with a decent all-round side in contention for promotion from Division Two of the County Championship.

Surrey skipper Gareth Batty is named man of the match for his 5-40 with the ball. His side are very much in contention in all formats this season and they'll fancy their chances at Lord's after finishing runners-up the past two seasons.

It's nice to see that the final of Nottinghamshire v Surrey is just around the corner and it should be an absolute cracker.

Surrey have got almost the complete side, my worry is that if Kumar Sangakkara doesn't score runs they might be in some trouble but they have a well balanced side especially with the ball.

So, not quite the last-over dramatic run-chase of last night at Chelmsford, but still plenty of top cricket on display at New Road.

Both of the sides who finished third in their respective groups will contest the final. The two group winners of Essex and Worcestershire miss out.

Who's the better cricketer out of brothers Sam and Tom Curran?

That's a really tough call. A lot of people say Sam is a better cricketer because I think his batting offers a lot as well as the fact that he swings the ball but there's also grit I see around Tom, a competitiveness.

I think it's going to be more down to themselves over the next two or three years.

It helps having that close relative and a healthy banter.

It's 200 up for Worcestershire with some hearty applause to greet it from the home crowd.

I think they'd quite like to watch a few more overs of this in the evening sunshine and who could blame them?

Jade Dernbach is back on looking to apply brakes of a different kind to this Worcestershire run this season in the One-Day Cup.

Their side may be heading rapidly towards defeat at New Road, but the Worcestershire supporters can at least still raise a chuckle.

An announcement over the public address system from master of ceremonies Dave Bradley asking that the respective owners of a black Range Rover, whose hand brake had not been correctly applied, and the Fiat Panda, which halted its progress, has just caused great hilarity, not to mention the biggest round of applause of the day.

He looks the sort who'd do a job for you as a captain - bowl all day up the hill and not complain, just be happy to have the ball in his hand.
