Gareth Batty has Surrey on the verge of victory against his former side.

More than 200 runs are needed for Worcestershire with only three wickets left.

That's a big, big ask - to put it mildly.

  2. Worcs 153-7published at 25 overs

    Whiteley 22, Leach 6

Four runs off Gareth Batty's eighth over. He's got figures of 4-34 this afternoon.

A solid effort that will go a long way to securing another Lord's appearance for his county.

  3. Worcs 149-7 (target 364)published at 24 overs

    Whiteley 21, Leach 3

Four more for Ross Whiteley to finish that Ravi Rampaul over with a pull shot out to deep square leg just beyond a diving attempt from Rory Burns.

    A late rally perhaps?

  4. 6 runs

Six from Ross Whiteleypublished at 23.5 overs

    Worcs 145-7

Ross Whiteley showing that he's got some power hitting in his locker.

Pulls one ferociously into the legside off Ravi Rampaul that clips Kumar Sangakkara's hands.

Next ball he gets a maximum over deep mid-wicket which is nicely held the other side of the rope by one of the New Road groundstaff.

  5. Worcs 134-7 (target 364)published at 23 overs

    Whiteley 7, Leach 2

Joe Leach now out there in the middle and the Worcestershire captain has a big job to do.

  6. 'The easiest of catches'published at 16:45 British Summer Time 17 June 2017

    James Taylor
Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match Special

That's the easiest of catches for Jade Dernbach, there was nothing behind it, never threatening to go for six but you can see what Ben Cox was trying to do.

  7. wicket

WICKET Cox (c Dernbach b Batty) 13published at 22.1 overs

    Worcs 131-7

A fourth wicket for Gareth Batty.

Ben Cox tries to loft one over long-off, but he gets absolutely no power on it and Jade Dernbach takes a very simple catch in the deep.

Real shame this for Worcestershire who just haven't been able to build any partnerships.

  8. Worcs 131-6 (target 364)published at 22 overs

    Cox 13, Whiteley 6

Ravi Rampaul continues in the fine early evening sunshine.

Ross Whiteley takes a big swing and a miss before playing slightly measured with a flick into the legside for a couple.

  10. 'It's now about being ruthless'published at 16:37 British Summer Time 17 June 2017

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Good work from Gareth Batty, it's now about being ruthless.

We've seen games turn around but well done to Brett D'Oliveira, a brilliant half-century, I thought he showed some real positive signs and he bowled well today too.

  11. Worcs 125-6 (target 364)published at 21 overs

    Cox 11, Whiteley 3

More toiling away from Gareth Batty concedes just three runs.

Surrey looking perfectly set for a third Lord's final in as many seasons.

  12. Worcs 122-6published at 20 overs

    Cox 9, Whiteley 2

Ravi Rampaul comes on to bowl for Surrey. The experienced West Indian right-armer is carrying a bit of timber I think it's fair to say in the autumn of his career.

But, he can still bang it in quite ferociously as Ross Whiteley has to duck under one. Conceded four from his first delivery as Cox tucked into a bit of a short one outside off.

  13. Worcs 115-6published at 19 overs

    Cox 4, Whiteley 0

Replays of that Brett D'Oliveira dismissal suggest he was hit outside the line of off stump.

A touch unfortunate perhaps for the right-hander who played a good hand with that half-century.

  14. wicket

    WICKET D'Oliveira (lbw b Batty) 53published at 18.5 overs

    Worcs 115-6

Three overs, three wickets for Gareth Batty and Surrey.

Brett D'Oliveira is the man who falls this time as his attempted slog sweep goes horribly wrong and Rob Bailey is quick to raise the finger as it hits his back leg in line.

A few in the crowd might also be heading for the exits and moving to a nearby beer garden perhaps.

Batty is a very happy man...

  15. Worcs 113-5 (target 364)published at 18 overs

    D'Oliveira 52, Cox 3

Wicket-keeper Ben Cox the latest man in for Worcestershire.

He's off an running with a couple and a single off Tom Curran's over.

The target of 364 is a long way away though for the hosts.

  16. 50 runs

    50 for Brett D'Oliveirapublished at 17.1 overs

    Worcs 108-5 (D'Oliveira 50, Cox 0)

Half-century for Brett D'Oliveira amid a fall of wickets for Worcestershire.

His sixth boundary of his innings brings up his landmark off Tom Curran. He's got there in just 40 balls with six fours and an impressive six off Gareth Batty.

  17. wicket

WICKET Hastings (c Burns b Batty) 3published at 17 overs

    Worcs 104-5

More screams of delight from Gareth Batty as he takes a second wicket in as many overs for Surrey.

John Hastings the man to succumb this time as the Australian tried to go over the ropes down to deep mid-wicket.

But, Rory Burns is there to take the catch diving forward and Surrey could really run away with this game now.

  18. Worcs 101-4published at 16 overs

    D'Oliveira 43, Hastings 3

Another touch of class shown by Brett D'Oliveira as he ramps the ball down to fine leg for four off Tom Curran.

He then escapes being caught down at third man with a mis-cue over wicket-keeper Ben Foakes' head.

Six from the over as the hosts bring up their 100.

  19. Worcs 94-4 (target 364)published at 15 overs

    D'Oliveira 36, Hastings 3

Big bad John Wayne Hastings is the next man in for Worcestershire.

He nearly finds the boundary down to deep mid-wicket but Rory Burns does some good work in the field again to keep the ball inside the rope.

  20. wicket

WICKET Clarke (c Foakes b Batty) 15published at 14.1 overs

    Worcs 90-4

Gareth Batty's enjoyed that one against his former employers!

Joe Clarke prods forward to the off-spinner and nicks behind to Ben Foakes, who bags the catch standing up to the stumps.

Further trouble now for Worcestershire just as a partnership looked to be building.
