  1. Ind 59-2published at 17 overs

Kristen Beams yells imploringly at the umpire as she strikes Harmanpreet Kaur on the pads, but neither Meg Lanning or Alyssa Healy are having it. It's very, very high, although Kaur played all around the googly there. A cracking dive at short mid-wicket from Alex Blackwell earns her a round of applause from the crowd and her team-mates. This is good stuff from Australia, keeping India tied down.

I think Kaur feels more comfortable against spin, which is why they've gone back to pace with Perry.

  3. Ind 57-2published at 16 overs

    Raj 21, Kaur 13

Drinks over and done with, and Ellyse Perry will kick things off. And she does well first up as Raj cracks a drive back at her and Perry gets down quickly, saving four runs with both hands. She's ridiculously talented, Perry, having represented Australia at football. And she owns a coffee shop. And she's a successful children's author. All makes you feel a bit inadequate, really. Not the tidiest of overs, Perry's line just wavering slightly, but it only costs two singles.

Watch a couple of cracking fours from India captain Mithali Raj - who became the highest women's ODI run-scorer earlier in the tournament.

After the first five overs, you could see a change of approach from Raj and Raut, they seemed to take more risks after that. Raj has just reined things in now.

I think a shortened game helps India, as they just need to start solid and then they can go for it at the end with wickets in hand. It's interesting that Australia are bringing Kristen Beams on, as leg-spinners have dominated this tournament.

    Ind 55-2published at 15 overs

Double spin now with leggie Kristen Beams into the attack, and she starts off with two horrible full tosses, the second of which Mithali Raj whacks down the pitch for an easy single. That's better, Beams giving the ball a bit more speed, and sliding off Harmanpreet Kaur's inside edge. And with that, let's have some drinks.

Speaking of Ashleigh Gardner, here's how she claimed Punam Raut's wicket with her second delivery.

  9. Ind 52-2published at 14 overs

    Gardner 3-0-6-1

Mithali Raj brings up India's 50 with a nice little shovel off her pads. This is very good bowling from Gardner, drawing both batters forward, and restricting them to just three runs. Lovely stuff.

Meg Lanning's in the wrong fielding position for me. If you're trying to protect that shoulder injury, she needs to be in at extra cover or mid-wicket. If she's too deep, they'll target her.

Kaur saw that quite early, got straight onto the front foot and placed it nicely through the covers. You always enjoy getting that first boundary.

  12. Ind 49-2published at 13 overs

Four! Over pitched from Megan Schutt and Harmanpreet Kaur drives and drives with aplomb to work it through extra cover. Schutt readjusts, and Kaur straight drives for for! Meg Lanning was chasing that all the way but with that shoulder, she was never gonna dive for it. You can tell that right shoulder is causing her some discomfort - she's holding it really stiffly and she's plonking herself in fielding positions where she has to do lots of running and tidying up.

  13. Gardner the indigenous trailblazerpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 20 July 2017

You may not know that Ashleigh Gardner is only the second indigenous woman to play international cricket for Australia - and the first for 59 years.

Our colleagues at BBC World Service's "Stumped" programme caught up with her in May - have a listen to this.

The India support staff are all wearing beanie hats, looking a bit on the chilly side, except for one fella, who is bedecked in a sun hat. My hero. Ooh, Raj drives at a off stump delivery from Ashleigh Gardner and misses, and the ball bounces and completely deceives keeper Alyssa Healy. That's a cracking delivery, neither batsman nor keeper reading it properly. Another good over from the Aussie off-spinner.

    Schutt 4-0-19-1

Oh, and here is Megan Schutt. I like Lanning's captaincy. She constantly shuffles things around, never letting the batsmen settle. There's a poster in the crowd declaring Mithali Raj as the 'Queen of women's cricket' as the captain runs another easy single away. Harmanpreet Kaur then gets off the mark with her own little glide down to third man.

Here are two fours in the space of three deliveries - with Punam Raut, before that moment of madness, hitting Megan Schutt out of the attack after three overs.

  17. Ind 36-2published at 10 overs

Spinners can be a little iffy in the women's game, but not Gardner. She's got a lovely action and she gets some turn on the ball, keeping Mithali Raj quiet before the India captain drives to pick up the sole run from the over.

That was really poor batting. Punam Raut's been around long enough to know better. You don't run down to your first ball, nearly get out, and then give your wicket away next ball. You don't want Harmanpreet Kaur coming in as early as the 10th over.

    Raut c Mooney b Gardner 14 (Ind 35-2)

A change for Australia, with Ashleigh Gardner brought into the attack - and she strikes within two balls! Dearie me, that's terrible batting. Punam Raut just about avoided chipping the first ball of the over back to Gardner, before she went for the big shot, trying to clear the ropes, and sent it straight into Beth Mooney's hands. Mithali looks thoroughly unimpressed at the other end.

Mithali Raj has the slowest fifty at this World Cup - taking 95 balls to reach her half-century against Australia at Bristol.
