Here's the first wicket to fall to a spinner today - Tammy Beaumont lashed a cut off Gayakwad to break the temporary hold India had over England...

But she made a horrible mess of dispatching this full toss...

  2. Eng 74-3published at 19 overs

    Poonam 3-0-8-2

Another full toss from Poonam Yadav and Sciver gives it the treatment, heading out of her crease and bunting the ball through the field and away to the rope. A misfield from Mithali Raj, the ball bouncing off her foot, allows England to nab a single from the last ball and keep Sciver on strike.

Shot! Superb from Nat Sciver. A shuffle down the pitch, a swing of the arms and a glorious straight drive bounces just once before the ball goes flying over the ropes. Then a quick single ends with Sciver face down on the wicket as she hares to make her ground. Dust comes flying up off the ground as she slides over the line. 10/10 for the dive.

Here's Nat Sciver, sweeping at her first ball, which she misses. I'm not a fan of this hanging back and sweeping. Use your feet, get to the pitch of the ball. It's so slow from Poonam Yadav and it's giving England too much time to think.

That was hitting the middle stump. I'm not sure why it wasn't given out on the field. That is a huge wicket for India. Heather Knight is the glue for this England batting line-up.

Out! Hitting middle of middle! That's as plumb as you're gonna get. It was low, Knight was down to sweep, and it hit her right in front of the stumps! I mean, I'd make a rubbish umpire, but that just looked horribly out. A bit of a wobble from England...

Hello, first ball after the drinks break, and Heather Knight is trapped in front by Poonam Yadav. The ump says not out, but Mithali Raj makes the T sign....

Time for some drinks on the pitch, which gives Knight and Taylor the chance to have a bit of a tete-a-tete.

It's a change of ends for Deepti Sharma, who has the England captain in her sights. She bowls three dot balls at the England captain before Knight gets off the mark, one leg in the air to whip an easy single away. There's a good sign from an India fan in the crowd - "Dear Virat -here's Mithali" with a picture of both players. The support both teams have had from their male counterparts has been great to see.

India had just introduced Poonam Yadav to the attack, and Sarah Taylor made a bit of a mess of the first ball she faced before she got off strike. Here's captain Heather Knight, who does a bit of gardening before she prods away her first two deliveries.

That could have been hit anywhere. It should have gone to the top stand of the Grandstand. India have just got back into this with the two crucial wickets, especially Tammy Beaumont.

Ugh. A full toss from leggie Poonam Yadav, the ball should probably be sailing somewhere into the back of the stands, and instead, it's gone straight down Jhulan Goswami's throat. That is a bad ball and a bad shot. It was low, full and Beaumont just didn't get underneath it properly.

Here's the first England wicket to go, with Lauren Winfield bowled by spinner Gayakwad for 24.

  19. Eng 59-1published at 14 overs

    Taylor 7, Beaumont 23

Sarah Taylor gets into that flamingo leg stance and flicks the ball back down the pitch, over Gayakwad's head. She doesn't get all of it and a fine, tumbling slide just in front of the rope stops the ball heading to the boundary. A single brings Tammy Beaumont on strike, and a corker of a cut goes racing away for four. Really good placement from the England batsman, crashing the ball between two fielders and letting the slope do the rest of the work.
