  • Shrubsole 6-46 - best figures in World Cup final

  • India collapse from 191-3 to 219 all out

  • Eng 228-7: Sciver 51, Taylor 45; Goswami 3-23

  1. Eng 52-1published at 13 overs

Deepti Sharma continues, solitary slip in place, a close field as she tosses the ball up. Both Beaumont and Taylor use their feet but they can only snaffle one single. It's been good from the India spinners, shutting that scoring rate right down, but England will just be searching to rebuild after that wicket.

It's a shame for Lauren Winfield, who looked in good touch at the crease...

And you thought things might have been coming up her way when she reviewed this dismissal.

  3. Eng 50-1published at 12 overs

    Gayakwad 3-1-16-1

Gayakwad continues, everybody starts moving around - and then the umpire points out there's still another delivery to go! Sarah Taylor cracks up laughing, and promptly turns the delayed delivery away for a single. That brings up England's 50.

That is quite a soft dismissal for Winfield. You have got to make sure when you are facing a left-arm-over bowler that you are batting on leg stump. That means you know you are not going to be bowled around your legs but Winfield left a gap there.

  5. Eng 47-1published at 11.3 overs

Wow. There's an almighty cheer from the Lord's crowd as Sarah Taylor strides to the crease.

    Winfield b Gayakwad 24 (Eng 47-1)

Bowled! The first England wicket goes! That's proper messy, I'm afraid. Winfield's been bowled around her legs. She took a step forward, trying to flick the ball away from her pads, but instead it's gone softly thudding into the stumps. There's a huge cheer from the India contingent as Winfield departs.

Great start from England. When you bat first you want to be no wickets down coming out of the first 10 overs. You feel like it could be Lauren Winfield's day today.

  8. Eng 45-0published at 11 overs

    Winfield 24, Beaumont 19

Double spin time. Here's offie Deepti Sharma, who has had a very good tournament. I thought England were a bit passive against India's spin during their previous meeting. It's a nice start from Winfield, who plants a foot down the pitch and flicks the ball away for a couple. There's a big lbw appeal from behind the stumps as Winfield gets down to sweep, but nah. That was sliding down.

England bat first, centuries for Taylor and Sciver. Deepti Sharma picks up a few wickets. India come close thanks to centuries from Raj and Kaur but Brunt and Gunn pick up 5 wickets each and England win. Bet you can't guess who is in my fantasy league team?

Jhulan Goswami has left the field after that last over. Ooh, Rajeshwari Gayakwad beats Tammy Beaumont's outside edge, the batsman playing away from her body. This is a better over from the spinner, no width for Beaumont to play with, and it's a maiden for the spinner as Beaumont is forced onto the back foot. That's the end of the first powerplay.

It's been a positive start for England - here's Tammy Beaumount striking some early boundaries.

  12. Eng 43-0published at 9 overs

That is still a pretty tidy over from Goswami. Just the leg-bye from it. Huge cheers greeted that reprieve for Lauren Winfield. The England fans want to see more from these openers.

Credit to Tammy Beaumont. It was her angle, and her decision, to convince Lauren Winfield to review that.

  14. England review - Not outpublished at 8.2 overs

Missing! Lauren Winfield survives. The delivery from Jhulan Goswami was indeed sneaking down the leg side.

  15. England reviewpublished at 8.2 overs

Is this the first wicket? Lauren Winfield is hit on the pad and the umpire raises the finger. It was a little leg side and the batter calls for a review.

England couldn't have asked for a better start. They have won the toss and you might have thought the pitch would be a bit tacky but there is nothing much there.

It's brilliant to see so many people waiting to get into Lord's. Mithali Raj is done with this leaking runs business. She's thrown the ball to left-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad. And her first ball is summarily driven for four! Too full, and it's easy for Lauren Winfield to free her arms and drive through the open space and away to the boundary. Ooft, that's close! Winfield goes for the sweep and it's so close to her stumps! She manages to get enough of an edge to wobble the ball past the keeper's legs but dearie me, that was so close. The next sweep is better, much more oomph behind that one, and that's another boundary.

  19. Still queuing to get into Lord'spublished at 10:58 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

There are still a lot of empty seats inside so it's hardly surprising to see a lengthy queue outside. Sports Minister Tracey Crouch took this photo on her way into Lord's.

Daggers, over on TMS, reckons Goswami and Pandey should swap ends. Pandey's certainly lost her rhythm from the Pavilion End, but Goswami's going pretty well here. A tidy over, proving that off stump keeps Beaumont quiet. A maiden.
