    Nottinghamshire 229 & 321-7 v Derbyshire 363

Derbyshire take just 2.5 overs to take the first of four wickets they desperately need to push towards victory as Brett Hutton is bowled by Tom Taylor.

Is there enough time left in the match for the visitors to chase down the target they'll be set?

Notts are currently 187 runs ahead at Trent Bridge.

  12. Rain ruining Derbyshire's chancepublished at 13:38 British Summer Time 5 June 2017

    Nottinghamshire 229 & 313-6 v Derbyshire 363

It's so typical of cricket that you're waiting since 2015 to win your first County Championship match and the rain all but ruins your chances.

I can't imagine the Derbyshire players are feeling too positive about their chances getting back out at Trent Bridge after a superb three days when they put the hosts under huge pressure.

  13. Postpublished at 13:23 British Summer Time 5 June 2017

Thanks Adam. I'm hoping I can bring as much cricket on this first day as you got through in the morning!

So long as the rain stays away we could be in for some exciting finishes.

  14. Postpublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 5 June 2017

Right then, time for me to hand over the reins here for the afternoon session to Kalika Mehta.

Hopefully, the rain that's so far stayed away from London and the south coast continues to do so and we get some positive results...

    Sussex 579-8 dec v 312 & 207-6 (f/o)

    Adrian Harms

    HoveImage source, BBC Sport

Terrific rearguard action from Ed Barnard and Ross Whiteley who have batted for 25 overs with skill and determination adding 79 runs, on an increasingly difficult pitch of variable bounce.

The deficit is now just 60 runs at the lunch interval, but Whiteley has been dropped twice both at second slip, and both by the Sussex skipper Chris Nash, and with rain forecast this afternoon those could be vital misses.

  18. That's lunchpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 5 June 2017
