That was a massive wicket for Surrey, you could sense how big by the scale of Rikki Clarke's celebration.

There's plenty of batting still in this Bears line-up, despite it being a young side.

  4. wicket

WICKET Pollock (b Clarke) 24published at 2.3 overs

    Bears 29-1 (target 205)

Ed Pollock initially takes a liking to new bowler Rikki Clarke - in almost the same place as his earlier maximum off Jade Dernbach, it's another big six for the Bears opener.

But he goes for one big shot too many and is bowled by the veteran seamer. A first breakthrough for the home side.

  6. Bears 22-0 (target 205)published at 2 overs

    Pollock 18, Sibley 4

Sam Curran into the attack for Surrey and he gets the treatment too from Ed Pollock, who hits another boundary to race onto 18.

Dom Sibley survives a big lbw shout - it looks like an inside edge saved him from seeing the dreaded raised finger of the umpire. A super cover drive for four will settle any nerves for the former Surrey batsman.

  7. Bears 13-0 (target 205)published at 1 over

    Pollock 13, Sibley 0

When you're chasing more than 10 runs per over from the outset, you need a good start and one of your openers to get off to a flier.

Ed Pollock has done that - 13 off the first five balls and a dot to finish from Dom Sibley.

  8. 'Almost out the ground'published at 20:34 British Summer Time 25 August 2017

    Bears 10-0 (0.2 overs)

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

That was a massive shot from Pollock. He got down on one knee almost to get that much leverage.

It's almost gone out of the stadium, no exaggeration!

  9. 6 runs

    Bears 10-0 (target 205)published at 0.2 overs

    Pollock 10, Sibley 0

Ed Pollock gets away with a top edge off the very first ball, which flies over the wicketkeeper's head for four.

The second ball from Jade Dernbach is deposited over square leg by the left-hander, down on one knee, for a huge six. A fantastic start for the Bears.

    Thanks very much, Adam.

Well it was some wonderful power hitting from Jason Roy and Aaron Finch first up that got Surrey to a total above 200 in this quarter-final.

The Bears will need something similar in their chase of 205 for victory.

It'll be Jade Dernbach bowling first for the hosts, with Ed Pollock and Dom Sibley opening up for the Bears.

    Surrey 204-5 (20 overs)

Surrey opener Jason Roy speaking on Sky Sports after his earlier 74 off 38 balls:

"It was good fun to get off to a good start at the top of the order. We've been doing that a lot in this competition.

"It's a great pitch to bat on out there, so hopefully we'll start well with the ball and take some early wickets.

"Aaron Finch is struggling with that calf now, so he's just got to rest up and recover."

    Surrey 204-5 (20 overs)

    Ebony Rainford-Brent

Birmingham Bears will feel that, in the final couple of overs, they lost the momentum they'd built.

It's a good wicket and a good score.

  15. Surrey 204-5published at 20 overs

    Henriques 48, Foakes 12

Ben Foakes hammers a four straight back past Olly Stone and almost straight into his partner Moises Henriques, who did well to avoid that.

The 200 comes up and then there's a free hit to follow it, from which Surrey pinch a couple more runs to finish on 204-5.

    WICKET S Curran (c Sibley b Hannon-Dalby) 2published at 19 overs

    Surrey 183-5

Nice bowling late on from the Bears as Oliver Hannon-Dalby keeps it tight with his subtle medium pace.

The right-armer is rewarded at the end of it with the wicket of Sam Curran, who skies one high into the darkness, but former Surrey man Dom Sibley holds on to that one very nicely.

Here comes the final over of the Surrey innings...

  19. Postpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 25 August 2017

    Surrey 178-4 (18 overs)

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Moises Henriques is already set and has a measure of the wicket. It's about him taking the lead. He could drive this to a big total.

This is where you want a big over, especially with wickets in hand.

  20. Surrey 178-4published at 18 overs

    Henriques 37, S Curran 1

A couple of overs to go now in Surrey's innings and they'll want 200 minimum after that power-hitting display by Jason Roy and Aaron Finch at the top.
