  1. wicket

WICKET Clarke (lbw b Thomason) 6published at 17.3 overs

    Surrey 174-4

Clever bowling from Aaron Thomason who has his second wicket of this innings.

Rikki Clarke is as plumb as plumb can be, getting trapped in front of all three there.

Surrey are just losing some momentum late on in their innings.

  2. Surrey 173-3published at 17 overs

    Henriques 33, Clarke 6

Rikki Clarke out there now for Surrey. Had this game been earlier this season, him and Dom Sibley would've been on opposite sides of the contest.

Jeetan Patel completes his four overs with a reasonably tidy bit of bowling before Clarke does loft him over the infield for a one-bounce four.

He's nearly caught at mid-wicket next ball with a tricky chance but still gets back for a couple.

  3. wicket

    WICKET Pope (c Hain b Hannon-Dalby) 8published at 16 overs

    Surrey 167-3

A welcome wicket for the Bears.

Ollie Pope doesn't quite fully connect with a swipe down the pitch and Sam Hain takes the steepling catch in the night sky at long-on.

  4. 6 runs

    Surrey 166-2published at 15.3 overs

    Henriques 32, Pope 8

Bang! That one sounded fantastic off the middle of the bat from Moises Henriques.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby is dispatched over deep square leg by the Australian for a big six.

Matt: Low crowd numbers could be due to the nightmare of the trains at the moment. I didn't go because I couldn't get there!

Alan: Hard to believe with all the problems opening for England, we ignore Jason Roy. How could he do worse? Top player.

  6. Surrey 159-2published at 15 overs

    Henriques 26, Pope 7

Haven't had chance yet to mention the man in at four for Surrey tonight, young Ollie Pope.

He's doing a great job of just getting off strike, keeping the score ticking over and letting Moises Henriques go big when he can.

Jeetan Patel goes through his bag of variations to try to out-fox this pair. Just five runs off that over.

    Surrey 154-2 (14 overs)

He may be busy in Leeds for the next few days, but Surrey and England opener Mark Stoneman is an interested spectator in tonight's T20 Blast quarter-final...

  8. Surrey 154-2published at 14 overs

    Henriques 24, Pope 5

Colin de Grandhomme gets a second over for the Bears, but Moises Henriques likes the width on offer as he cuts him away for four.

He almost gets two boundaries in two balls, but there's a stop and a fumble on the rope by Aaron Thomason.

  9. 6 runs

    Surrey 141-2published at 12.5 overs

    Henriques 15, Pope 2

Moises Henriques gets in on the six-hitting action after Jason Roy's departure.

A lovely shuffle of the feet down the pitch, and he clears the rope wide of long-on.

    Surrey 132-2 (12.1 overs)

Time and time again, the Bears rely so much on Jeetan Patel. He's been one of the most consistent overseas players for the past six or seven years.

If he can have a good couple of overs here, the Bears can claw a bit of control back.

  11. wicket

WICKET Roy (lbw b Patel) 74published at 12.1 overs

    Surrey 132-2

Jason Roy tries to shuffle across the crease to Jeetan Patel but the experienced campaigner darts one into his pads and there's little doubt about that one being plumb.

The end of a superb knock by Roy off 38 balls with seven fours and four sixes.

A much needed scalp for the Bears.

  12. Surrey 131-1published at 12 overs

    Roy 74, Henriques 8

Olly Stone returns for his third over for the Bears, but Jason Roy continues to find the ropes.

Dom Sibley has no chance of cutting one off down to fine leg despite his big dive.

The Oval crowd have become accustomed to seeing Jason Roy find the boundary frequently and with ease this season, and today is no different.

Somewhat peculiarly, this is easily the smallest crowd that has turned out here for a Friday night T20 Blast match this season.

Perhaps people have escaped early for their Bank Holiday mini-breaks.

  14. Surrey 123-1published at 11 overs

    Roy 67, Henriques 7

Colin de Grandhomme becomes the seventh different bowler to come on for the Bears. Not sure too many more will be queuing up to have a go...

Jason Roy inside edges a fortunate four down to fine leg. When it's your day, it's your day.

    Surrey 112-1 (10 overs)

    Scott Read
BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

You see so often in T20 games that the first half of the innings goes emphatically for one side and then the other side claws it back.

There's still time for the Bears to do that.

But they've got a number of players who will be unfamiliar with these surroundings - they do have a good record in recent seasons, but this is a much younger side.

  16. 6 runs

    Surrey 112-1published at 10 overs

    Roy 62, Henriques 3

Moises Henriques is the new man in at three for Surrey and he scampers a couple to get off the mark and take his side past 100.

Aaron Thomason gives a way a no-ball as he clatters into the stumps at the non-striker's end.

Jason Roy takes full advantage with the free hit and clatters it for six down to deep square leg.

So, the halfway mark for Surrey and it looks like they'll maul the Bears at this rate.

  17. wicket

WICKET Finch (c Hain b Thomason) 39published at 9.1 overs

    Surrey 98-1

The fun and games are over for Aaron Finch as he mistimes one down to the diving Sam Hain at long-on.

Aaron Thomason enjoys bagging that wicket and didn't his side need it?

Finch hobbles off and that'll probably be the last we see of him tonight.

  18. Surrey 98-0published at 9 overs

    Roy 54, Finch 39

Scott Borthwick's been an interested spectator through all of this as Aaron Finch's runner.

What a great view he's had of this opening partnership.

Grant Elliott into a second over and Finch can't smash him away from the crease to begin with but then he cleverly lofts him over extra cover for a handsome four.

Superb viewing, this, to see Jason Roy in full flow.

Some incredible form shown by the England one-day opener throughout this competition this season.

  20. 6 runs

    Surrey 89-0published at 7.1 overs

    Roy 51, Finch 34

    There's a half-century for Jason Roy with a six!

Five fours and three sixes in that 23-ball destructive innings.

It was almost a great catch on the boundary for Dom Sibley off Aaron Thomason's bowling, but Sibley couldn't prevent the ball from getting over the rope.
