Following Essex's brilliant victory over Yorkshire on Monday, there are seven matches left in the County Championship today.

Here is a look at the day three scores for all the games apart from at Taunton, where the teams are a day behind thanks to an errant T20 Blast fixture.

The heavens have opened at Durham now too, with Leicestershire battling to save the game on day three with their score 124-4 in reply to the hosts' 525-8d.

And one I missed earlier, a delay at Wantage Road, where Northamptonshire are 50-5 agianst Gloucestershire in the second innings, leading by 128 runs.

It's a miserable looking scene at Northampton today.

  3. Rain delays playpublished at 10:53 British Summer Time 8 August 2017

It's not unexpected, but unfortunately rain is causing delayed start to a few of our games today.

No play will be possible before lunch at Derby, where Derbyshire are 45-1 in their second innings, still trailing Nottinghamshire by 243 runs after Alex Hales' double-century yesterday.

In Division One, dark clouds and showers have delayed the start at the Ageas Bowl, where Lancashire are looking to set Hampshire a difficult chase on the third day.

There's rain at Worcester too, where Worcestershire need 49 runs to avoid the follow-on against Sussex, though we may get some play before 13:00.

    County Championship - Day Three

One result down, seven more to go.

After Essex secured victory inside two days against Yorkshire at Scarborough, several more sides will be looking to wrap up wins today.

Sadly, it looks like the weather might get in the way of that...
