  2. Hampshire 111-4 - target 170published at 13 overs

    Vince 55, Carberry 5

Michael Carberry is next out of the dugout for Hants, who breathe a sigh of relief when a leading edge by James Vince falls short of the cover fielder.

Steven Mullaney gives the final ball a bit of width and Carberry edges it away for a less than convincing boundary.

  3. WATCH: Vince almost caught in the crowd - by an England legend!published at 16:42 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

Much depends on James Vince for Hampshire now.

He's just reached his half-century, and here's a six that Vince hit off Ish Sodhi. He almost managed to pick out England legend Darren Gough in the crowd too!

  4. Mullaney on firepublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

He's been gun barrel straight all day but it's the changes of pace that are really working.

Slower ball and Bailey swung and missed.

WICKET Bailey (b Mullaney) 4published at 12.2 overs

    Notts Outlaws 169-7 v Hampshire 105-4

That was unnecessary by George Bailey, who attempts a big yahoo, misreads the pace of the ball and is bowled. Two wickets now for Steven Mullaney. Is this a wobble by Hampshire?

  6. Hampshire 105-3 - target 170published at 12 overs

    Vince 54, Bailey 4

Ish Sodhi starts a new over as Hi Ho Silver Linging echoes around the ground and the fearless (or reckless?) Andrew Flintoff and Marcus Trescothick are belted into the vertical catapult ride.

It's a good over for Notts, yielding only six singles.

  7. Hampshire 99-3 - target 170published at 11 overs

    Vince 51, Bailey 1

New batsman George Bailey is immediately under way with a single and James Vince adds another to end the over.

Despite the loss of Tom Alsop, 71 from 54 balls should be doable for Hampshire if they keep their heads.

  8. Mullaney strikes for Nottspublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Excellent bowling from Steven Mullaney. He's been varying his pace - the chopping and changing caught Alsop and he wasn't quite ready for it.

  9. wicket

    WICKET Alsop (c & b Mullaney) 20published at 10.4 overs

    Hampshire 97-3 - target 170

Tom Alsop is fortunate as a thin inside edge beats the wicketkeeper and rolls away for four runs.

But he is outfoxed by Steven Mullaney as the all-rounder swoops to pick up a return catch just centimetres above the turf.

  10. 50 runs

    Hampshire 91-2 - target 170published at 10 overs

    Vince 50, Alsop 14

Samit Patel is doing a decent job for Notts with the ball, but he is unable to hang onto a caught and bowled as Tom Alsop flays it shoulder-height to his right.

Hampshire have to settle for singles, until James Vince slams the final ball into the crowd at mid-wicket for six to reach a 25-ball fifty.

  12. Hampshire 80-2 - target 170published at 9 overs

    Vince 43, Alsop 10

Military medium from Steven Mullaney is the next offering from the multi-faceted Notts attack. Absolutely no pace for the two batsmen to work with and they can only add five to the score. Here comes Back In Black by AC/DC over the PA system.

  13. Hampshire 75-2 - target 170published at 8 overs

    Vince 41, Alsop 7

The leg-spin of Mason Crane and Shahid Afridi worked for Hampshire in the Notts innings. How will New Zealander Ish Sodhi fare for the Outlaws?

His first ball costs him four runs, courtesy of poor fielding by Dan Christian at cover. There's turn out there for Sodhi, but that doesn't concern James Vince who hammers the final delivery for six.

  14. WATCH: Afridi out first ballpublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

Here's the big moment so far as Shahid Afridi picks out Alex Hales at deep mid-wicket off the first ball of Hampshire's reply.

  15. Hampshire 61-2 - target 170published at 7 overs

    Vince 29, Alsop 5

Tom Alsop is the new batsman and faces up to the left-arm spin of Samit Patel. A reverse-sweep to the second shows commendable confidence and it runs away fine for four runs. That delivery apart, it's a good over as only six are added to the Hampshire total.

  16. T20 cricket at its bestpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

    Gary Smee
    BBC Sport at Edgbaston

It really is the most wonderful scene at Edgbaston right now.

A packed ground, bathed in late summer sunshine and 25,000 people having a great time at the cricket.

And we've had a couple of cracking games. T20 cricket has its cynics, but this is spot on.

  17. wicket

WICKET Dickinson (c Christian b Ball) 27published at 6 overs

    Hampshire 55-2 - target 170

Calvin Dickinson slices the ball to third man for four and then lifts the next over gully-head for another. Jake Ball's final delivery of the over ends his innings, however, as a short-arm pull shot provides Dan Christian with an easy catch. Notts really needed that.

  18. Hampshire 53-1 - target 170published at 5.3 overs

BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Sussex and ex-England batsman Luke Wright: "It looks like the spinners will be in the game but I still fancy Hampshire. James Vince is going to be huge for them. It was disappointing to see Afridi go early, but Vince always seems to stand up on the big occasion."

Two more fours for Calvin Dickinson. Hampshire pass 50.

  19. Hampshire 45-1 - target 170published at 5 overs

    Vince 27, Dickinson 18

Calvin Dickinson has found his range - a four and a six in Harry Gurney's over.

Six balls of the powerplay left.

  20. Vince the key for Hampshire?published at 16:10 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

    Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

He's a hard man to keep quiet in the first six overs. You have to have the cover point deep because he loves the lofted shot over cover, but he's also got the pull shot.
