BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Notts bowler Steven Mullaney: "It's a new thing for most of us getting to the final so it's an exciting time.

"We'll grab a bite to eat, focus and then warm up for the final.

"Birmingham look strong, Ed Pollock played really well in the semi-final so he will be a big wicket.

"If we play as we did in the quarter and semi-finals, that should be enough to win."

  3. Christian praises 'fantastic' Mullaneypublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

Notts Outlaws beat Hampshire by 23 runs

Notts skipper Dan Christian tells Sky Sports: "It was a bit tight out there when James (Vince) was smacking it around. Steven Mullaney was fantastic for us as he's had a tough season at Trent Bridge with the short boundaries and good wickets.

"It's one each between us and Birmingham this season. It's nice to be playing a team we know so well in the final. But it's their home turf so it's going to be difficult for us."

Notts Outlaws and Birmingham Bears (Warwickshire) have met 12 times in T20 games over the years - and Notts have the edge by a 7-5 margin.

Hampshire captain James Vince tells Sky Sports: "We lost our way in the middle (of our innings). The position we got ourselves into, it's disappointing not to get over the line."

"Birmingham look like a great side so it will be a fantastic final.

"We'll sit in the dressing room, chill out for a bit and then come straight back out ready to play."

They won the key moments of this game.

They did the job and have plenty of match winners in the side. Harry Gurney taking three wickets at the end of the game, along with George Bailey's wicket, is where Notts won today's match.

    Breaking

Chris Wood and Mason Crane don't look to have the kind of shots in their respective repertoires to get Hampshire close to this target, and that is all she wrote and Jake Ball produces a perfect yorker to bowl the former and end the contest.

Hampshire let a golden opportunity slip there, as they appeared to be cruising at one stage with James Vince well-set. But Notts reach the final for the first time since 2006 and will face Birmingham Bears.

Will the Outlaws lift the trophy for the first time?

  8. Fantastic Gurneypublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

    James Taylor
Ex-England batsman on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Harry Gurney has been brilliant today.

He's bowled the slower balls at the right time. All these bowlers have the skills - it's just knowing when to use them.

  9. Hampshire 144-9 - target 170published at 18 overs

    Gurney 3-0-19-3

Chris Wood denies Harry Gurney a hat-trick by tickling it away for a single, then the left-arm paceman gives away a leg-side wide. That is unlikely to be important given the match position.

Gurney abandons his run-up as something flies into his left eye, but he's soon back at the end of his mark and Mason Crane collects two runs into the leg-side.

Three wickets in that over - is game over? Hampshire need 27 off two.

    Hampshire 140-9 - target 170

Slower ball by Harry Gurney, Kyle Abbott plays too soon and spoons up a catch to mid-off. Gurney on a hat-trick.

WICKET Berg (c Wessels b Gurney) 15published at 17.3 overs

    Hampshire 140-8 - target 170

Remember that record by Dan Hartman, Instant Replay. Well, that's what just happened as Gareth Berg departs in identical fashion to Liam Dawson.

  12. wicket

WICKET Dawson (c Wessels b Gurney) 4published at 17.1 overs

    Hampshire 140-7 - target 170

Liam Dawson is not a natural biffer and he is way short of the rope with that one as Riki Wessels accepts a comfortable catch. Is the Hampshire chase running out of steam?

  13. Bailey's wicket the turning point?published at 16:59 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

    James Taylor
Ex-England batsman on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

It's ebbed and flowed, this game.

For me the turning point was the wicket of George Bailey. I thought him and James Vince were going to see this game through.

  14. Hampshire 140-6 - target 170published at 17 overs

    Dawson 4, Berg 15

Pace on the ball now from......Jake Ball. Liam Dawson crashes the first one away, but it's only a single. What can Gareth Berg do? He can step away and carve it square for four, that's what, just a couple of inches short of being a six.

Berg clearly prefers the off-side, so Ball cramps him for room and he loses the strike. There's one for Liam Dawson, though, from a leg-stump full toss and Beg slashes the final delivery fine for four.

Good over for Hampshire - 30 needed off three overs is the equation. You can work out the required run-rate yourselves from that.

  15. Hampshire 126-6 - target 170published at 16 overs

    Berg 3, Dawson 3

This has all gone away for Hampshire and Ish Sodhi almost adopts a 'hit me if you dare' approach to his third over. They can't as only four come from it. The target now 44 from 24 balls. Suddenly, Hampshire need a couple of sixes to get them back on course.

  16. Hampshire 122-6 - target 170published at 15 overs

    Mullaney 4-0-22-3

    Steven MullaneyImage source, Rex Features

Gareth Berg is off the mark with a single and Liam Dawson adds another from Steven Mullaney's final delivery of the game.

He finishes with 3-22, a tremendous performance, which has certainly revived their chances of victory.

    Hampshire need 48 off 30.

  17. Mullaney crucial for Nottspublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 2 September 2017

    James Taylor
Ex-England batsman on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Steve Mullaney does it again! He picks up vital wickets for Notts and it was an excellent catch from Brendan Taylor.

James Vince was controlling this game for Hampshire.

WICKET Carberry (run out) 13published at 14.4 overs

    Hampshire 120-6 - target 170

Brilliant work by Samit Patel as his direct hit runs out Michael Carberry. He called it from the non-striker's end, so he can't blame Liam Dawson.

WICKET Vince (c Taylor b Mullaney) 56published at 14.2 overs

    Hampshire 119-5 - target 170

What a spell by Steven Mullaney and there's his third wicket - and it's the big one.

James Vince times the ball beautifully but picks out Brendan Taylor at backward square. What impact will that have on Hampshire's self-belief? Here comes Liam Dawson to try to see them home.

    Hampshire 119-4 - target 170published at 14 overs

    Vince 56, Carberry 12

Glorious by Michael Carberry as he slams the ball back over Samit Patel's head for a magnificent straight six. An unsuccessful attempt to repeat the stroke at the end of the over results in a single to long-on.
