Perry is swamped by her team-mates as she leaves the field. Megan Schutt comically lifts her helmet too as she walks off - I'm sure she'll be dining out on her contribution with the bat.

The important statistic is that Australia lead by 168 - the target England will need to exceed, just to make the hosts bat again.

  2. 6 runs

Aus 448-9published at 09:29 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Perry 213, Schutt 1

Having reached 200, Perry is in no mood to be merciful - crashing another one down the ground which threatens to decapitate the umpire - and then launching a six high into the night sky over cow corner. And Australia have declared.

  3. 200 runs

200 for Ellyse Perrypublished at 09:27 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Aus 438-9

Sophie Ecclestone to bowl, Perry drives her first two balls straight to fielders. But the third is driven for four - she's passed 200 from 371 balls, and becomes only the seventh woman to score a Test double century.

She's a fabulous player, she so deserves this.

  5. Aus 434-9published at 09:24 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Perry 199, Schutt 1

The crowd are on their feet here. Perry manages a single but Schutt has two deliveries to survive - and the forward defensive she plays to the last ball of the over gets huge cheers!

  6. 6 runs

Six - or is it?published at 09:24 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

She's done it... or has she? Perry lofts Marsh towards cow corner, it's signalled as six, Perry lifts her helmet off in celebration, but a replay shows the ball bounced just in front of the rope - so it's only four, and she only has 198!

  7. Aus 429-9published at 09:21 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Perry 194, Schutt 1

Perry takes the aerial route against Marsh... and it reaches Shrubsole at long-off on the first bounce. Single taken. Then Schutt gets a leading edge, the ball skies into the air... safe! Schutt leading a charmed life, Perry is back on strike on 194...

  8. Aus 427-9published at 09:20 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Perry 193, Schutt 0

Number 11 Megan Schutt is hit on the toe first ball by Ecclestone, there's a big appeal... turned down. Schutt survives, Perry is still out there - but will she have confidence in Schutt, or will she try to reach 200 next over?

Was Wellington doing the right thing for the team there? She was looking to play with intent and extend the lead, but perhaps not thinking about Perry at the other end on 193.

    Wellington lbw b Ecclestone 2 (Aus 427-9)

Wellington sweeps, misses, she's hit in the ribcage as she crouches down and the umpire immediately raises his finger. Is Perry going to run out of partners?

  11. Aus 426-8published at 09:16 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Perry 192, Wellington 2

Perry straight-drives Marsh for a single, she's two boundaries away from a remarkable double century.

Amanda-Jade Wellington's mother got her camera out as soon as her daughter walked out - a proud moment. They drove all the way from Adelaide. I'm sure she'll be important tomorrow.

  13. Aus 423-8published at 09:12 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Lead by 143

Sophie Ecclestone yells an lbw appeal as Wellington rushes to try to force her to leg - umpire Joshua shakes his head and it looks as though it may have hit her outside the line of off stump. So not an unfair call (though it must be stressed there's no DRS in this match - and not even the usual array of HotSpot, snickometer and ball-tracking gadgets). A single takes Perry to 190.

  14. Aus 421-8published at 09:10 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Perry 189, Wellington 1

Test debutant Amanda-Jade Wellington is the new batter - she's off the mark with a single, can she hang around long enough to get Perry to her double century?

Laura Marsh has 3-99 from a marathon 42 overs.

I loved the way Lauren Winfield looked at the ball after taking that catch, as if to say "you've been bowling with THAT?"

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 09:06 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Jonassen c Winfield b Marsh 24 (Aus 420-8)

Jonassen's entertaining cameo comes to an end as she gets a leading edge and the ball chips up to point where Lauren Winfield takes the catch. Tellingly, there's not much celebration from England.

  17. Aus 419-7published at 09:04 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    New ball available

Perry flicks a single to deep mid-wicket. Australia are taking them at will.

And the new ball is available - that's the third new ball. England have been toiling in the field for 160 overs. But they're not going to take it.

  18. Aus 416-7published at 09:01 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Lead by 136

It's not getting any better for England - Jonassen thumps Marsh towards cow corner, teenager Ecclestone slides feet first, she can't take it cleanly and the ball squirms over the boundary. No hiding place when the floodlights are on... Jonassen has 23, Perry is up to 186.

England will be wondering whether Australia might declare if Perry gets to 200. You're in a dark place when you've been fielding for that long.

  20. Aus 410-7published at 08:57 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

New ball available in two overs

Elwiss is off, and left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone is back in the attack - misfielding off her own bowling to allow Perry an unearned single. Jonassen shows her class with a firm, fluent sweep for four. Australia are running away with this game.
