    McGrath c Sciver b Elwiss 47 (Aus 373-7)

Gone! Just when she looked set for a debut fifty, Tahlia McGrath falls just before the dinner interval and as with the Aussie openers yesterday, a bad ball takes a wicket. Georgia Elwiss serves up a rank full toss, McGrath's eyes light up and she hits it straight to Sciver at mid-on.

  2. Aus 373-6published at 07:46 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

The dinner gong will be rung in a few minutes' time, but for now Australia are continuing to feast on the England bowlers. There's not much Georgia Elwiss can do with a ball which is falling to bits, and Perry hits her first boundary for absolutely ages with a four through mid-wicket to bring up the century stand.

  3. Aus 366-6published at 07:43 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Perry 160, McGrath 46

Yet again, England's best chance of getting Perry out seems to be a run-out - Katherine Brunt shows plenty of commitment by diving after the ball in the covers to create the run-out chance. A single means that out of Perry's last 34 scoring shots, 32 have been singles, with the other two having been twos.

Ellyse Perry doesn't get bored. She's so patient, and wants to make these big scores. A message came out three or four overs ago, and it looks like they're trying to be more aggressive.

Richard Clark: Talk of declaring at Dinner. Why? They should bat all day if not bowled out, then declare 10 minutes before the start tomorrow. Will surely back themselves to bowl England out in a day.

Georgia Elwiss, who's had one of the better economy rates among the England bowlers, is going to have another go before dinner. But i's more easy pickings for the Aussies.

As an opening batter in this situation, you're looking over your shoulder now to see whether there's any movement from the batting side, in case they're getting ready to declare. Is anyone getting their whites on?

It sounds like there will be plenty for the TMS team to get their teeth into during the dinner interval, both literally and metaphorically. As well as a promised chicken curry, they'll be hearing from England's Craig Overton and the Cricket Australia XI's coach Chris Rogers after the men's side completed their victory earlier today - while Daggers will convene a journalists' panel to discuss this series.

Continuing on the buffet theme, Perry and McGrath help themselves to a couple of singles from Knight's latest over - while the England fielders are smiling at how ragged the pink ball is looking after being bashed around for 67 overs.

  9. Aus 356-6published at 07:32 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Perry 154, McGrath 42

Natalie Sciver to continue - if Australia keep batting, presumably England will have a third new ball available in 15 overs' time... There's just under 20 minutes until dinner, and perhaps fatigue is showing as Sciver tries a slower ball which literally fails to hit the cut strip, and it's signalled as the first wide of the match.

Perry's been batting all day, but she's very fit and I think she'll just steam in with the ball if Australia declare.

  11. Aus 352-6published at 07:28 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    145 overs

Heather Knight's going to have a bowl for the first time today, having sent down four overs yesterday. There's a long-on in place, but Knight - bowling round the wicket as she normally does - sends the first ball down the leg side and Perry sweeps it for two to push Australia's score to 150. Anya Shrubsole doesn't look happy having to chase the ball down. Perry steers a single to the mid-wicket sweeper, and McGrath is chipping away as she nears a debut half-century.

It's been a tough day. I'm starting to feel for them now. 144 overs is a long time to be out in the field.

  13. Aus 348-6published at 07:24 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Perry 151, McGrath 38

It's the nearest England have come to getting Ellyse Perry out today - she sets off for a single from the non-striker's end, but McGrath sends her back and Perry has to dive to make her ground.

  14. 150 runs

    Aus 347-6

McGrath continues to hit out when she can - lifting Marsh over mid-on for four. The off-spinner's figures have taken a bit of a pasting today - after she conceded 28 runs in 23 overs yesterday, she's gone for 48 in 14 today. Meanwhile, McGrath continues to impress for someone playing their first Test - and how England must regret dropping her on her first ball.

Meanwhile, Perry pushes a quick single and is able to raise her bat for a serene 150 not out. It's the sixth time an Australian has reached that mark in a women's Test (with Karen Rolton having done it twice).

  15. Aus 340-6published at 07:16 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    142 overs

Remarkably, Perry's not hit a boundary for nearly two hours... she's happy to keep pushing the singles. Sciver has 0-54 from 18 overs - I'm surprised Heather Knight's not bowled herself today, given that England have tried everyone else.

It's not even a challenge any more for Australia. I think they'll give it a whack after the interval, they'll be over 100 in the lead and then maybe once the lights are in full effect, give Schutt and Perry a go with the new rock. If they can get two or three wickets before the close, they'll be within touching distance of retaining the Ashes.

  17. Aus 339-6published at 07:11 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

McGrath has more fielders saving the single than Perry, but is finding the gaps well - singles are now easy to come by, even against Marsh. McGrath then has a big slog, looking to hit over the top, and it finds Ecclestone at mid-on, on the first bounce.

  18. Aus 334-6published at 07:08 Greenwich Mean Time 11 November 2017

    Perry 144, McGrath 31

Natalie Sciver is back on with her medium pace - and there's a rare lapse behind the stumps from Sarah Taylor as McGrath plays and misses, and the ball skids off Taylor's pad for the first bye of the innings, in the 140th over.

This is where Australia need to put their foot on the accelerator, and it needs to be Tahlia McGrath, as the field is right back for Perry. Australia are the only team who can win this, so they need to take risks. I think they should put England in soon after dinner.

If you're just waking up, realising you've missed the first session-and-a-half of day three and tuning in to see how England are doing... the answer, I'm afraid, is "not very well".

So far today, Australia have added over 150 runs for the loss of only one wicket. And haven't really looked like adding more. Ellyse Perry has been the star, with a chanceless maiden international century.
