  1. 'We're still massively in the series'published at 07:21 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2017

Here's a quick recap of what was said post-match from each team.

Joe Root said England were still "massively in this series."

"We came to the ground expecting," the England captain said. "We were right in the game but losing early wickets hampered our chances.

"The way we went about it yesterday was exceptional and that has to be the benchmark going forward. That shows how we are still massively in this series."

Agree? What do you reckon? A lot of you are suggesting a 5-0 is coming...

Both Joe Root and Chris Woakes failed to add to their overnight score this morning.

Moeen Ali lasted 40 minutes but only scored two and Craig Overton could not repeat his impressive first innings knock and was out for seven.

Stuart Broad played a typical Stuart Broad innings and was out for eight and, with just Jimmy Anderson left for company, Jonny Bairstow was eventually bowled for 36.

We're going to continue to get the latest reaction from Adelaide as well as a look back over the key moments from the day's play and the Test as a whole.

I also want to hear from you.

Many of you were waking up expecting to have a day with eyes and ears glued to the cricket. My dad even took the day off work (poor chap). What are you going to do instead? We've already had one suggestion of someone off to bleed his radiator...

England's batting has been rightly criticised in this match but you have to say today Australia's bowling was excellent.

Josh Hazlewood started brilliantly, dismissing Chris Woakes and Joe Root in his first two overs, while Nathan Lyon had Moeen Ali out in his first over of the day.

After taking the new ball, Mitchell Starc found big swing and that proved too good for Craig Overton.

In fact, Starc was once again too good for the England lower order as he followed that with the final two wickets.

England captain Joe Root on BT Sport: "We came to the ground this morning well in the fight. Unfortunately those two early wickets really did cost us.

"If we make a partnership early on, it's a completely different game.

"It's very frustrating because the way we responded in the second innings with the ball and the fight and resolve with the bat was outstanding."

Morning everyone. Any England fans just waking up? You're in luck. You've saved yourself a morning of misery.

England began the day with hope of completing a record-breaking run chase but crumbled in the face of some excellent Australian bowling and were bowled out within an hour and 45 minutes of play.

Chris Woakes was dismissed on the second ball of the day by Josh Hazlewood before the Aussie quick struck the big blow of dismissing Joe Root in his next over for 67.

Moeen Ali was the next to go, lbw sweeping Nathan Lyon, and Craig Overton soon followed, shortly after taking a nasty blow in the ribs.

Jonny Bairstow showed a little fight in making 36 but he was eventually the last man out, bowled by Mitchell Starc.

England now trail 2-0 in the Ashes series but you probably didn't need me to tell you that.

Phil Ainley: Woke up to see another England collapse. It’s to be expected I suppose but it’s always disappointing to see. Sadly it’s every innings these days.

Simon Navin: So my early train journey activity will now be more presentation preparation focused than cricket focused

Andrew Brindle: Phrase that sprung to mind on waking up this morning, "it's the hope that kills you."

There's a telling stat about Vince: eight of his last ten Test dismissals have been caught behind the wicket, either by the keeper or slip. He was run out in one, and caught at cover in a second. The worry is that he's still making the same mistakes. He averages 20.93 after nine matches for England, with one half-century to his name.

And with that, I'm off to sleep. I'll be back for the Perth Test. Matt Henry will take over from me.

Kayleigh: Taking Vince was just a mistake. He’s a fantastic limited overs batsman but I’ve never seen him transfer this over to Test matches. We should have picked somebody with experience.

  16. 'We've got to be better'published at 06:40 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2017

England captain Joe Root on BT Sport: "We've just got to be better.

"Credit where credit's due - Australia bowled very well up front. Maybe we could have bowled a tiny bit fuller. But at times we were quite unfortunate; we beat the bat.

"The way we responded in the second innings was a template on how to bowl in these conditions.

"We need to learn with the bat - there were some poor dismissals. You can't afford to do that."

  20. What have you missed?published at 06:31 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2017

Good morning! I can't break this to you gently: England are 2-0 down in the Ashes after losing in Adelaide by 120 runs.

England were bowled out for 233 in an hour and 45 minutes, with Mitch Starc taking 5-88 as the visitors crumbled.

Nightwatchman Chris Woakes was caught behind from the second delivery of the day by Josh Hazlewood, before Joe Root fell in a similar fashion in his next over.

Moeen was trapped in front as he tried to sweep Nathan Lyon before Craig Overton, who took a nasty blow to the ribs early in his innings, was bowled by a superb Starc delivery.

Jonny Bairstow offered some resistance but, after Stuart Broad edged behind, he was bowled to become Starc's fifth and final scalp.
