Mel '73: Really poor tactics from Smith. Shouldn't be one day captain and is proving it again.

  2. Eng 54-5published at 19 overs

Head continues - a couple of singles to start the over and that's the fifty up for England!

The part-time tweaker then offers a bit of width and that's in Morgan's arc, the skipper carving it away for four.

Brilliant move from England. When the Aussies lose from this position it will be totally devastating.

This is a real opportunity for Moeen Ali. Let's be frank he's had a shocker this winter.

  5. Eng 48-5published at 18 overs

    Morgan 24, Moeen 19

Morgan pulls loosely at a short one and the ball loops up towards mid-on, but falls safe.

Moeen flicks off his hips for a single, before Morgan guides the ball through mid-wicket for two.

Eek. An inside edge from Morgan, just past the stumps and down to fine leg, with the captain scampering three.

It was not a great start for a number of the batsman in the top order but these two have soaked up pressure well and have found the boundary in the last couple of overs.

It's tidy enough from Head but Moeen and Morgan calmly nudge him around for three singles.

Steve Smith has a fair few fielders on the boundary. I think he could be a bit braver here. Still, his side are firmly on top. How deep can this England pair take the recovery?

Spin for the first time in the match - but it won't be frontline leg-spinner Adam Zampa, but the part-time off-spin of Travis Head.

    Hmmm.

  10. Eng 38-5published at 16 overs

    Morgan 16, Moeen 17

Morgan swivels round the corner for one before Moeen unfurls another pull in front of square for two.

Good response from Marsh, a tighter line forcing Moeen to defend the last three balls.

That has got to be some sort of record. Into the 15th over and England have their first boundary.

    Eng 35-5published at 15 overs

Shot! Easily the best one of the day and it's the first boundary for England. Moeen clatters a gorgeous cover drive off Tye to the fence.

More width as Moeen scythes it away to the deep for one, before Morgan slices it down to third man for another.

Another four! Moeen rocks back and pulls away a short ball.

That's drinks. England will not break Zimbabwe's record lowest ODI score of 35. They could equal it but that would be going some.

Paul Brookes: Good to see England Iulling the Aussies into a false of security. 250 on the cards now.

In the last 18 months England have shown great aggression and flow but this might throw up questions about they can adapt.

Every now and then every team just need questions to be asked.

  15. Eng 25-5published at 14 overs

Marsh continues as Moeen flicks it into leg for one, before Morgan rotates the strike well, dropping into off for a quick single.

Yeesh. Moeen flays at a wide one with no foot movement and is fortunate not to nick it behind.

The last ball is a low full toss and Moeen drives it to the man in the deep for one. Not sure there's much need for a deep point given how in charge Australia are but hey ho.

  17. Eng 22-5published at 13 overs

    Morgan 13, Moeen 4

Another good yorker from Tye, shaping in, and Morgan does well to jab his bat down on it.

Short one to finish and Morgan just about rides the bounce to play it down.

That was pretty tasty from Tye. 12 overs in and the ball is still moving.

  19. Eng 22-5published at 12.3 overs

Double change as Andrew Tye comes in for Josh Hazlewood.

A bit of movement and an excellent yorker sees Tye get is through onto Morgan's pads.

Huge appeal but not out. That was swinging past the leg stump and pitching outside leg anyway.
