  1. Aus 105-3published at 20 overs

    Target 197

That over was played as the blasts of a 21-gun salute echoed around the ground. A World War Two bomber flies over the ground too. It's Australia Day remember. The home fans are enjoying it and their side are looking comfortable.

Four more. This is getting away from England. Head again helps himself as Rashid over-pitches.

  5. 50 runs

50 for Headpublished at 19 overs

Need 96 to win from 186 balls

Yelps of catch but Travis Head comfortable collects the single he needs to reach an eighth ODI half-century by knocking the ball into the leg side.

    Six from the over.

  6. Aus 99-3published at 18.1 overs

    Marsh 27, Head 49

It's Moeen Ali who starts after drinks and he begins with an awful long-hop.

Short, down the leg side and there is no fielder behind square on that side.

Help yourself stuff and Marsh obliges by adding four more. Not ideal.

    Thanks Jack.

This isn't as close as in the balance but England still have the slightest sniff. Just.

They're going to have to taken seven wickets for less than 102 runs.

  8. drinks break

Australia need 102 more to winpublished at 08:49 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2018

And that's drinks. Some excellent stuff from England's spinners but enough loose deliveries to ensure this pair have kept the scoreboard ticking along.

Australia will make short work of this total unless England can remove both these batsmen quickly.

That's me done on the live text for the ODI series. Cheers for reading.

To see if the tourists stand any chance of getting back in this, here's Matt Henry...

  9. 6 runs

    Aus 95-3published at 18 overs

    Head 49, M Marsh 23

Head drives out towards the man on the fence and picks up a single to move to 49.

Rashid gives it a bit of loop with the googly and Marsh inside edges it onto his pads.

Marsh then bends down on one knee and slogs it over mid-wicket for six. Serious power.

A single into the leg side to finish.

  11. Aus 87-3published at 17 overs

Moeen slides it down leg and Marsh clips it away for a couple. The off-spinner then strays too wide the other side and Marsh whacks it through Tom Curran in the covers and away for four. The young bowler perhaps should've done better, even if it was absolutely smited.

Yeesh. Proper response from Moeen, fizzing it past Marsh's outside edge.

England bowler on BBC Test Match Special

England's problem is that they have got fielders in, trying to squeeze the batsmen as they search for wickets. That means they don't have, for instance, somebody on the cover boundary.

  13. Aus 81-3published at 16 overs

    Need 116 more to win

Mitch Marsh has been in decent touch this series, without ever playing a really vital knock. He doesn't miss out though when Rashid strays a too wide, driving square to the fence.

Marsh then punches down the ground for two before slashing out to deep extra cover for one.

  16. Aus 74-3published at 15 overs

    Head 48, M Marsh 3

Moeen Ali continues - can England's spin duo get another couple of quick wickets to get Australia really wobbling?

Marsh gets off the mark with a drive through the covers for two. A similar shot picks out the man at deep cover for one.

Here's Travis Head on 48...but he has to just defend the final ball back to the bowler. Moeen has conceded just 12 runs off his four overs.

  17. Aus 70-3published at 14 overs

Mitch Marsh is the new man in and just works the last ball to cover for no run.

Tremendous work from Rashid - Smith was completely unsure of how to play the leg-spinner.

It was a slider from Adil Rashid which skidded on to Steve Smith and Joe Root kept his composure nicely.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.5 overs

    Smith c Root b Rashid 4 (Aus 70-3)

    A beauty of a catch.

Steve Smith tries to flay away a ball that's too close to him, as it catches the outside edge and Joe Root snaffles it superbly, moving sharply to his right at first slip.

Excellent bowling from Adil Rashid, getting that one to slide on and bamboozle the Aussie skipper.
