John: What hair advice would you give your 20-year-old self? Mistakes were made.

You learn from those mistakes. I don't think I'd change anything. I just enjoyed messing around with my hair. The red stripe was for a likeness to Freddie Ljungberg. I was young and thought why not.

This is the third time England have been bowled out for under 200 since the 2015 World Cup. It is their 57th match.

    Not bad.

With these totals, sometimes the chasing team get caught in two minds. Some try to go hard at the top, while others just try to accumulate their way up to the target.

England are going to have to bowl out of their skin though - Australia are firmly in the box seat.

So a reminder of what went on there.

England lost Jason Roy in the first over and after 6.2 overs they had lost five wickets for just eight runs. Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Alex Hales, Joe Root and Jos Buttler were all back in the hutch.

Eoin Morgan and Moeen Ali steadied with a 50 partnership but both failed to go on.

England's top scorer was Chris Woakes who in the end took England to a score they can at least bowl at. He made it look like he was batting on a completely different pitch and scored 78 from 82 balls with five sixes.

Eventually Tom Curran was the last man out with England failing to bat out the final 5.1 overs and posting 196.

Curran has played a good knock but that's a soft dismissal to end the innings, which he'll be disappointed with.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 44.5 overs

Curran c Marsh b Tye 35 (Eng 196 all out)

England fall just short of 200. You doubt it's enough but that is a pretty good effort from 8-5.

Tom Curran is the last man out as he becomes the second man to fall to a Andrew Tye slower ball. He tamely chips the ball into the leg side.

  11. Eng 196-9published at 44.3 overs

Four more! Curran steps away and drives Tye through the covers. Four more needed for 200...

  12. 6 runs

    Eng 192-9published at 44.1 overs

England are not done yet! They really do bat all the way down. Short from Tye and smashed for six by Curran!

  13. Eng 186-9published at 44 overs

Close! Almost the end for England. This final pair collect singles off Adam Zampa but then on the final ball Tom Curran almost offers a return catch back to the spinner.

Considering the start England got, they will be relatively happy now. At least it's something to bowl at.

  16. Eng 181-9published at 43 overs

Last man Mark Wood joins Tom Curran in the middle but he's not on strike as the batsmen crossed. Curran steals a single on the final ball to keep the strike.

Chris Woakes has played quite beautifully for England in a tough situation. He's played some elegant shots, some powerful shots and stood up again for his team when they needed him.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 42.3 overs

    Woakes c sub (Maxwell) b Tye 78 (Eng 180-9)

All good things come to an end.

Chris Woakes finally falls, again looking to attack. It's a good slower ball from Andrew Tye and Woakes chips the ball down the Glenn Maxwell at long on.

Woakes has just about given England something to bowl at. Tye makes amends for that missed chance in the previous over.

  19. Eng 179-8published at 41 overs

Andrew Tye took a big swing at the turf with his boot after that missed chance. Chris Woakes is now the third-highest scorer in this series and second highest for England behind Jason Roy.

Tye is going to come back into the attack in place of Stoinis.

    James Taylor
Ex-England batsman on Test Match Special

He didn't quite time the slog sweep but it's a bad mistake from Andrew Tye on the boundary, running in and misjudging the flight as the ball flew over his head.
