  2. wicket

WICKET - Clarke (lbw b Gregory) 0published at 16:27 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    Somerset 202 v Worcestershire 17-3 (5 overs)

    Golden duck for Joe Clarke!

Lewis Gregory is on fire. Full, straight and quick, the ball thumps into Clarke's front pad and the umpire's finger shot up.

  3. wicket

    WICKET - D'Oliveira (b Gregory) 3published at 16:25 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    Somerset 202 v Worcestershire 17-2 (4.5 overs)

What a beauty! Lewis Gregory follows an over of gentle outswingers with a hooping, quicker inducker which beats Brett D'Oliveira all ends up, taking his off-stump.

    Lovely stuff from Gregory.

Ben Foakes (pictured above) and Ollie Pope currently share an unbroken fifth-wicket partnership of 73 as a combination of an older ball and a hot sun begin to have an effect on this Oval pitch.

There's been life in it all day and Edwards (3-35) has been the pick of the bowlers.

Chris Wood picked up his 100th first class wicket when he had Dean Elgar caught behind in that session. It was his first championship wicket since April 2016 after suffering from a few injuries.

Cheers Felix, sterling work in the afternoon sunshine (not literally of course).

We're set for a long evening as well in some of these matches as there's still plenty of overs to be bowled.

Always the way when wickets tumble....

  6. After tea comes a changepublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

After a typically staggered tea break all over the country I'll hand you back into the capable hands of Adam Williams, who will guide you through the next events.

  7. wicket

    WICKET - Mitchell (c Hildreth b Gregory) 5published at 16:18 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    Somerset 202 v Worcestershire 12-1 (2.4 overs)

Safe hands from James Hildreth at first slip. He does for Daryl Mitchell who edges Lewis Gregory into the cordon.

A blow for the visitors, who lose their most experienced batsman early on.

Leicestershire have continued to bowl with good control and imagantive captaincy from Michael Carberry and the new ball ball is due in just 16 overs

As for the cake: a thank you to Leicestershire supporter Sally. This looks fantastic!

    Essex 150 v Lancashire 19-3 (9 overs)

    Hameed outImage source, Rex Features

It's three wickets in the bag already for Essex and Jamie Porter.

Haseeb Hameed is the latest to depart as he gets a fine outside edge on to a decent ball that goes through to James Foster's gloves.

Great reply from the champions and their strike bowler from last season.

A half-century from Yorkshire wicketkeeper Andrew Hodd halted the fall of wickets in the afternoon session after the home side resumed after lunch on 107-5.

A probing spell from the Notts seamer Luke Fletcher was rewarded with the wickets of Jack Leaning and Tim Bresnan, but he’ll be looking for support from the other bowlers to remove the final two Yorkshire wickets after tea.

  11. Worcestershire under waypublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    Somerset 202 v Worcestershire 8-0 (1 over)

Worcestershire have begun their reply to Somerset's 202 all out, with Daryl Mitchell and Brett D'Oliveira at the crease.

Craig Overton and Lewis Gregory are bowling.

  12. Kent have a wobbly moment but leadpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    Durham 91 v Kent 112-4 (33 overs)

    Adam Whitty
    BBC Radio Kent

It was all going so well from a Kent perspective.

Heino Kuhn and Sean Dickson seemed to be loving life, and had taken the visitors to 67-1 under blue skies in Durham.

    Heino Kuhn
    Image caption,

A lot rests on the performance of Heino Kuhn (looking a little dreamy in this picture)

But the wickets of Dickson, Denly and Crawley, all falling in the space of 13 runs, rocked the boat somewhat.

At the tea break, Kent lead by 21 runs, and it falls to Kuhn and Darren Stevens to rebuild the innings.

Both old hands, but face a challenge in these fresh and swing-friendly conditions.

  13. Postpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

Not quite tea in every game, but now seems as good a time as any to give you a glance at where all the games are....

  14. Foakes and Pope comfortablepublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    Surrey 187-4 (64 overs) v Hampshire

Ben Foakes and Ollie Pope have batted pretty much without scare. They've put on 73 runs together to calm things from 114-4.

Surrey will be happy at tea.

  15. wicket

WICKET Davies (c ten Doeschate b Porter) 6published at 16:02 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    Essex 150 v Lancashire 16-2 (6.3 overs)

    PorterImage source, Rex Features

Jamie Porter in the wickets again as Essex's strong start with the ball continues.

Alex Davies mistimes a drive to mid-off and into the hands of Ryan ten Doeschate to give Porter a second early wicket.

  16. Time for tea in Brispublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    Gloucestershire 172-7 (64 overs) v Glamorgan

    Bob Hunt
    BBC Radio Gloucestershire at Bristol

Honours just about swung Glamorgan’s way at Bristol on tea when Ryan Higgins mistimed a pull from Marchant de Lange in to the hands of Sean Marsh at short mid-wicket for 43.

At 172-7, Gloucestershire will at least be aiming for their first batting point of the season on a pitch that is still assisting the bowlers despite the Spring sunshine.

Kieran Noema- Barnett is their last recognised batsman. He’s on 27.

  17. Pope looking the partpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    Surrey 181-4 (61 overs) v Hampshire

Ollie Pope rocks back and cuts Liam Dawson twice behind square for four. The youngster moves onto 32*, with Ben Foakes on 31*.

It's looking much easier for Surrey out there now, with tea approaching.

  18. wicket

WICKET Shaw (c Moores b Gurney) 17published at 15:53 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    Yorkshire 191-8 (61 overs) v Nottinghamshire

A promising eighth-wicket partnership of 36 for Yorkshire is ended as Josh Shaw falls to Harry Gurney.

Tom Moores snaffles the edge behind to give Gurney his second wicket of the innings.

Wicketkeeper Andy Hodd at the other end has picked up a half-century.

  19. Hats off to Renshawpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    Somerset 202 v Worcestershire

Somerset’s 202 all out is maybe 50 fewer than they’d have liked, and 50 more than they feared after being reduced to 7-2.

Hats off to the new Taunton Aussie, Matt Renshaw, for 100 on debut. He played really well as the other Somerset batting (James Hildreth honourably excepted) crumbled around him in seam-friendly conditions.
