Long day at work? Not been able to make it to the pub yet? Maybe you've got a whole weekend at work ahead (know the feeling).
Bask in the glory of an Alastair Cook cover drive...

Pakistan can get demoralised pretty quickly. They have to keep their chins high. It's going to be a long day - and it might be a long day tomorrow. You can't really throw your heads down and not compete. It can happen with the young sides. Let's see...
Cook 31, Root 14
Right, he's been warming up for a while and here is Mohammad Amir returning for his second spell of the innings, his side in real need of a wicket.
Each delivery is greeted with a 'wahey' from the Western Tearrace, the fourth of which swings sharply into Joe Root's pads but was going well down leg. That would've been very dangerous to the left-handed Alastair Cook, who is brought on strike by the leg bye.
Amir can't find the right line and Cook leaves the last couple.

I thought I heard a little something there, but I don't know what it was. Cook played as if the ball was much wider than that.
Alastair Cook does one of those Rahul Dravid leaves where you're not quite sure if they judged it perfectly or got away with one. Either way, it whistles past the stumps as Cook shoulders arms.
He then flashes Joe Root a nervy smile, giving away that he didn't think that was flying quite that close to his timbers.
That's a definite misjudgment though - Cook somewhat flaying at a wide one and that was very close to the inside edge. A maiden for Abbas.

Ahh, the Alastair Cook cover drive. You don't see it often, but it's just magical when you do. Perfect balance at the crease, the opener gets forward and clatters Faheem Ashraf to the fence.
A more standard Cook-ian clip off the pads for one to finish.
Pakistan's lead is under 100.

Mohammad Abbas is back into the attack and Joe Root greets him with a tremendous smash through point for four.

England will win in four days. I said that before we got here this morning.
Even after bowling out Pakistan for 174, it remained to be seen how England's often brittle top order would cope in swinging conditions.
But there were plenty of promising signs early on as the recalled Keaton Jennings began his innings in a positive manner, playing a few gorgeous shots.
After negating Amir and Abbas though Jennings fell to Faheem Ashraf, who angled it nicely across the left-hander and induced the edge.
Alastair Cook remains at the crease, looking in decent touch, joined by captain Joe Root.
Faheem Ashraf sends down five dot balls to Alastair Cook as Pakistan at least try to limit the runs.
The last is too straight and Cook clips it away for a single.
Mohammad Amir is warming up. The tourists need two wickets before the close.

The hard thing for Pakistan is, when you're playing catch up cricket, you feel you have to bowl them out, and you strive for wickets and your length goes a bit. You have to bowl with discipline. Keep plugging away - the ball will do something.
From 79-7, Pakistan fought back through a fine innings from 19-year-old Shadab Khan, who brought up his fifty with a fearsome pull shot...
But England finally cleared up the tail, with debutant Sam Curran picking up his first Test wicket as Shadab picked out Keaton Jennings. That left Pakistan all out for 174.
Cook and Root keep the scoreboard ticking over, adding a single and two respectively.
The captain then picks up another four, width from Hasan and Root slices it through vacant third man to the fence.
While Bruce does his lunges, we'll carry on catching you up on the day so far...
James Anderson, who was a bit wayward in his opening spell, returned refreshed after lunch, snaffling the wickets of Sarfraz Ahmed...
...and Faheem Ashraf in quick succession. Stuart Broad also removed debutant Usman Salahuddin during the flurry to leave Pakistan reeling on 79-7.

Cook 23, Root 4
Shot! Plenty of wristy goodness from Joe Root as he sweetly times a flick wide of mid-on for four. Not a bad way to get off the mark.
Not been able to sneak a look at the live text during your day at work? We've got you covered.
Stuart Broad, looking fired up after criticism of his showing in the first Test, bowled a superbly menacing opening spell, removing Pakistan openers Imam ul-Haq and Azhar Ali cheaply...
Chris Woakes then joined in with two wickets of his own as Pakistan fell to 68-4 at lunch...

Hasan Ali backs up that wicket with a testing maiden over, zipping the last just past Alastair Cook's bat and the stumps.
England captain Joe Root is due to face his first ball next up. He'll at least be much happier coming in now than inside the first 10 overs yet again.

Jack Blackburn: Jennings should take great heart from that knock. He looks in good nick and will get the rewards if he keeps it up.
