  1. Pak 169-9published at 46.3 overs

Mohammad Abbas is going to have an over of Sam Curran to contend with.

The first delivery whips past his outside edge, the second clunking into the bottom of the bat and going on the bounce to Jonny Bairstow.

    Edgy times...

For a while, two guys next to me were sitting watching the cricket, with no sign of doing anything else. Then, they began pulling on furry fancy dress. Now they are a pantomime horse, trotting up and down the Western Terrace.

Mickey Arthur has wandered out of the dressing room and come down into the stands to applaud Shadab Khan's half-century. Lovely touch.

  5. 50 runs

50 for Shadabpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 1 June 2018

Chris Woakes strays short and Shadab Khan scythes it away through point for four.

And that's four more! Another short one and Shadab whacks a pull shot to the boundary.

That's his fifty and it's been a mightily impressive knock by the 19-year-old, especially given the failings of the top order.

That was an intelligent set-up by Woakes. Hasan Ali had looked comfortable until the trap was set for the short ball. One bumper almost sat him down and, when he was expecting another, the full ball resulted in the return catch

  7. Pak 161-9published at 45 overs

Shadab Khan punched the air in frustration after Hasan Ali's dismissal. He's only 19 but he's not been afraid to admonish his more experienced partners when they've played poor shots today.

And why not, when you can clatter shots like this - slashing it over gully for four.

He jogs a leg bye to put new man Mohammad Abbas on strike. Sam Curran has two balls at him but the number 11 jams his bat down on a yorker and leaves the last.

A good sharp catch from Chris Woakes. That ball moved slightly in the air and Hasan Ali could only chip it back.

    Hasan c&b Woakes 24 (Pak 156-9)

Ah. That'll be the end of Hasan Ali!

Chris Woakes' bouncer unsettled him, and he's popped a leading edge back up to the Warwickshire man. It's a good catch, actually, Woakes moving sharply to his right to get both hands underneath the ball. That's the end of an entertaining partnership for Pakistan.

  10. Pak 156-8published at 43.5 overs

Chris Woakes finds that fuller length and Shadab Khan scampers his way through for one.

A short ball comes whizzing Hasan Ali's way, and Hasan ducks so low he almost topples over...

  12. Pak 155-8published at 43.2 overs

This is now the highest partnership for Pakistan in this innings, as Shadab Khan tucks a Chris Woakes delivery down to the boundary.

Shot! Oh, that's too short from Chris Woakes, and Shadab latches onto it, up on his toes to smash the ball to the ropes.

  14. Pak 147-8published at 43 overs

Dom Bess is left clutching at his knees after diving to the ground in the deep to cut off a slice from Hasan Ali.

Four! It's wide from Sam Curran, and Shadab Khan's eyes light up. A spin of the wrists and the ball goes flying down to the boundary.

You can't really call that a chance. It would be a miracle catch to pull that off.

  18. Pak 140-8published at 42 overs

A jab of the bat from Hasan Ali, and he gets the ball to run away through extra cover for a couple.

A whirl of the wrists as Chris Woakes strays down the leg side, and Hasan picks up another boundary. Oh, the ball is in the air again, and it's safe once again! This time the ball skims past Joe Root's fingers as he leaps to his right at third slip.

  20. Pak 127-8published at 41 overs

    Hasan 12, Shadab 23

A better length from James Anderson, moving away from Hasan Ali, and he gets into another awkward position.

The ball, however, goes on the bounce to Keaton Jennings at slip. Hasan celebrates by thumping Anderson's final ball down the hill for four. An eventful over...
