Spooned up into the air from Ben Stokes and Virat Kohli barely has to move from his position on the boundary.

    Top boshing from Jonny Bairstow.

  3. Eng 175-4published at 17 overs

    Stokes 13, Bairstow 20

If you were wondering how well it's going for India, Ben Stokes has just scooped an 89mph delivery from Umesh Yadav over his head for four.

Umesh hasn't been too far off. It just shows how short these boundaries are. Bairstow didn't even look like he was trying to hit it that hard.

    What a shot that is!

Utterly ridiculous from Jonny Bairstow. It's almost a yorker from Umesh Yadav and Bairstow, somehow, manages to give himself some room and just pushes at it. Somehow, there's enough behind the push to send the ball flying over the ropes.

  6. Eng 163-4published at 16.1 overs

That'll be four from Jonny Bairstow, as the returning Umesh Yadav strays down the leg side and Bairstow helps it on its way.

It wasn't particularly elegant from MS Dhoni, but it did the job to get rid of Eoin Morgan.

  8. Eng 159-4published at 16 overs

    Run rate 9.94

    Whoops!

Ben Stokes' eyes light up as a full ball comes his way. He swings - and he swings so hard that his bat goes flying out of his hands. Still, he's got enough presence of mind to run a single before sheepishly retrieving his bat.

India have gone to death bowling. They think England are going to start the charge now.

  10. Eng 156-4published at 15.3 overs

    Stokes 8, Bairstow 8

A wide yorker from the returning Siddarth and Ben Stokes throws his arms out to reach it, getting enough bat on it to push it down to third man for four.

It's really good from Bairstow, showing intent early in his innings. England need to keep going, keep the foot down.

It was all going so well for India, Deepak Chahar wheeling his way through a tidy over, before a short-arm jab from Jonny Bairstow sends the ball way over deep mid-wicket and into the crowd.

A short ball sits up for Bairstow and he swats it away for a single.

  14. Eng 143-4published at 14.2 overs

Ben Stokes gets a chance to test out how fit his hamstring is as he calls new man Jonny Bairstow through for a quick two.

That's similar to Roy's dismissal. He was trying to give himself room, but he got cramped and could only guide it to Dhoni.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14 overs

    Hales c Dhoni b Hardik 30 (Eng 140-4)

A bit too cute from Alex Hales, I think.

He tries a similar shot to Jason Roy, just trying to run the ball down to third man, and instead a healthy outside edge flies through to MS Dhoni.

    Eng 140-3published at 13.5 overs

Ben Stokes is back in the England side and in at five.

He can content himself for the time being with watching Alex Hales hoick a short ball away like it's an troublesome fly for six.

Morgan very kindly gave India another opportunity. It was a comfortable catch for Dhoni, but then he demolished the stumps.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.2 overs

    Morgan c Dhoni b Pandya 6 (Eng 134-3)

Eoin Morgan has played exactly the same shot and this time, he's been caught.

Up into the air goes the ball and MS Dhoni has to swirl around underneath it to take the catch. He then loses his balance, falls into the stumps and ends up rolling along the ground. He didn't drop the ball, though, and Morgan must go.

He got himself in such a poor position. He was never set.
