So England head to Trent Bridge 2-0 up in this series.

It wasn't as close as the first Test but this another with plenty of excitement.

It was left to Chris Woakes to take the winning wicket, capping off a man of the match performance...

Another rain break then came but afterwards England soon wrapped things up.

Anderson dismissed Kuldeep Yadav for a duck again...

And the Burnley Express then had Mohammed Shami trapped in front...

Virat Kohli came out to bat but was clearly struggling with a back problem. He winced his way to 17 and at one point was flat on the field getting treatment from the physio.

The Indian captain eventually became Broad's third victim...

And then Broad dismissed Dinesh Karthik with his very next ball. Broad was on a hat-trick but couldn't quite manage it.

The players were then kept off the field for 90 minutes but once they did return Stuart Broad was the man to star.

He got on one of those rolls he seems to love.

First he dismissed Ajinkya Rahane...

And then cleaned up Cheteshwar Pujara...

England then had a short spell of bowling at India before the day's first rain delay.

There were only nine overs bowled but James Anderson had time to take two wickets.

It seems a long time ago but England started this day batting on. They batted for 40 minutes, adding 39 runs.

The declaration eventually came when Sam Curran was out for 40. Chris Woakes finished 137 not out.

Stuart Broad tells Test Match Special his thoughts on Chris Woakes' award-winning display: "To play as calmly as he did, he almost looked like a number four. It was a beautiful hundred, but what a place to do it. He’s a wonderful guy, probably the nicest guy you’ll meet and everybody was delighted with his success."

There are still question marks over England's batting. It took Woakes to go out there and show Jonny Bairstow how to bat in Test-match fashion.

When you win in 170 overs against the number one team in the world, I can't think there will be anything but a series victory.

When you’re out there it goes by in a flash, but scoring a 100 at Lord's is genuinely what dreams are made of, but to make it in the team cause is very sweet. That I was off with injury makes it all the sweeter."

It seems to me like Dinesh Karthik is trying too hard. He hasn't had his chances any good.

India's top order certainly looks in big trouble.

Both Dinesh Karthik and Murali Vijay got pairs in this match.

Virat Kohli has 240 runs in the series but no other player has more than 100 runs combined across the two matches.

It is difficult to see how India regroup. That is where the team management, Ravi Shastri and the captain have to find something to pull everyone around and to create that inspiration.

This has been obliteration.

Stuart Broad tells Test Match Special about the plan to dismiss Virat Kohli: "Short leg is a good option with a pitch with variable bounce, you want to hit the pitch as hard as you can, and mentally push the batsman back."

Stuart Broad speaking to Test Match Special: "I felt a really good rhythm coming through from the Pavilion End, there was a bit of variable bounce throughout the game. We have not given any freebies away in this series, and not given India any chances.

"We had the best of the conditions, but used a lot of skills to make the most of it. We were lucky, but the way Jimmy swung it was unbelievable in the first innings."

Kohli looks to have a serious problem, I hope for the series he makes it for Trent Bridge. But with back spasms, which we think he has, a couple of days' work could do it.

An India side with Kohli struggled, so if they were to go without him then I would really fear for them in the last three. I really hope he is fit – it’s the number one Test side in the world against England in English conditions. We need a competitive game, and a close series.

This man has had tough times in the last 12 months.

He has now had a very good two weeks. That declaration decision confused many but everything else he did in this match came off.

Joe Root at the presentation: "It has been a fantastic week from the very first ball. We did have conditions in our favour but you still have to perform. To go and get to a position where you can declare is testament to that partnership. Jonny (Bairstow) and Woakesy (Chris Woakes) were magnificent. I am really pleased for Woakesy.

"It is a really good position to be in in the series but we will take nothing for granted."

India have all the problems, and England's seam bowling is up there with the best we have seen from them.

It was very impressive from the bowling department, but there are still question marks with the batting. But I cannot help but feel there is going to be nothing but an England series win.
