Sam Moran: Bumrah spent more time walking to and from the wicket than he did batting!

Dave W:The India bowlers batted as if they were desperate to get back out on the pitch and have a go at England.

Bumrah b Anderson 0 (Ind 329 all out)

And there goes Jasprit Bumrah! Two in two for Anderson to finish.

That's a sensational delivery but you've got to laugh. Bumrah ended up playing that with his hips facing forward and just his right foot on the ground with his left in the air pointing to mid-wicket.

Even Virat Kohli is sniggering in the dressing room.

Here's last man Jasprit Bumrah who averages a grand total of one in Test cricket...

They'll be disappointed, maybe they would have been expecting to get closer to 400, but that's not likely now with Bumrah coming in as the last man.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 19 August 2018

    Shami c Broad b Anderson 3 (Ind 329-9)

    Well that was utterly predictable.

Shami tries to hit Anderson from Nottingham to Derby but only skies the ball high in the air. Stuart Broad takes a routine catch at mid on.

    India are nine down.

  6. Ind 329-8published at 94.1 overs

Mohammed Shami's plan is clear. A huge swish and a miss off Anderson's first ball...

Who knows what might happen after lunch? The skies might clear and it might not swing as much.

    Ishant 1, Shami 3

Mohammed Shami didn't have to wait long after being relegated to number 10 in the order. Broad's sister is in the crowd and celebrating that wicket.

I hope Jasprit Bumrah has his pads on. Ishant Sharma isn't looking particularly solid here. How he survives Broad's final delivery I do not know.

With the overcast conditions and the second new ball we thought it wasn't going to be easy for the India batsmen and that is what we have seen.

    Ashwin b Broad 14 (Ind 326-8)

But that one is very out. Ravichandran Ashwin's middle stump is uprooted by Stuart Broad. That would have got plenty of top order batsmen out. Full and swinging from Broad and as emphatic a dismissal as you'll see.

It went quickly and to his left. He was quite close, Pope is not that experienced in that position or in any sort of cricket and it went down.

  12. dropped catch

Ashwin dropped on 13published at 93 overs

Another one goes down. It's a beauty from Jimmy Anderson that squares Ravichandran Ashwin up. The Indian edges low to Ollie Pope's left at fourth slip where Pope gets his left hand to the ball but it drops to the turf.

Anderson snatches his cap back from the umpire. He expected it to be taken.

Alastair Cook asked for it earlier and now he's got it.

You can now vote on which of the three recent brilliant slip catches at Trent Bridge was best.

Alastair Cook's yesterday, Ben Stokes' in 2015 or Andrew Strauss' back in 2005.

    Ashwin 12, Ishant 0

Ishant Sharma is the new batsman, promoted above Mohammed Shami.

He is greeted by a ferocious inswinger from Broad but just about survives. Chris Woakes comically slips over trying to retrieve the ball in the field. The crowd all "waheeeeey" in unison. Woakes' teammates show him even less sympathy.

It's not a great dismissal, a length ball rather than half volley but he was tempted and went after it. His bat was a bit crooked and away from the body. A fairly big inside edge and the off stump came right out of the ground. It's a disappointing re-start, he looked so good last night. If England could polish it off quickly we have got a good game on our hands.

    Pant b Broad 24 (Ind 323-7)

The ultimate commentator's curse from Vic Marks.

Rishabh Pant does the exact opposite to what Vic has just described. He lazily wafts at a full delivery from Broad and inside edges back onto his stumps.

Broad gives the 20-year-old a mouthful on the way off. Not sure what that's all about.

Pant has left a few nicely and has been positive in defence so far. He is judging what to leave well.

Broad is happy to bowl now. I'm still none the wiser as to what he wanted. The TV cameras were helping David Lloyd chat to a chap in the crowd via his earpiece so I couldn't see.

    Away we go again.

While we wait, here's that missed chance from earlier.

Jos Buttler just didn't pick the ball up and ended up looking pretty silly.

Broad has just made a frustrated signal towards the dressing room, asking for something to be brought out for him. I must admit I have no idea what he has asked for. I hope the dressing room know.

We're going to have a stoppage.
