Well that has been a shocker of a day for England. It has to be up their with their worst days in recent years.

England will have to hope there is cloud around and they bowl them out and chase 360. You can't see England doing it. When you have been bowled out in a session, batting for four or five is not likely. Full credit to India, they are a good team to watch and it looks like being 2-1 going down to Southampton.

So for the second time in the day England's bowlers had to strap up their bowling boots and warm-up.

They took two wickets in the evening session but this match looks to only be going one way. India closed day two on 124-2, leading by 292 runs.

Jos Buttler was left as the last batter alongside Jimmy Anderson. He smashed a few sixes to entertain the crowd but eventually was last man out.

England were bowled out for 161. They lost all 10 wickets for 107.

At that point Pandya was on a roll. He could do no wrong.

He dismissed Rashid and Broad to claim his first five-wicket haul for India.

It worries me the adrenaline rush the batsmen have. There is no-one in that middle order. This has happened for two or three years now.

Then things started to happen even quicker.

Jonny Bairstow and Chris Woakes fell in the same Hardik Pandya over...

86-4 soon became 108-5. Ben Stokes hit a few boundaries but was then out for 10 to Mohammed Shami...

When they are ahead of the game they seem to have a better mind and they can have a partnership. It's that cluster of wickets when they are up against it and the conditions are in the opposition's favour.

Joe Root was next to go and it was controversial. He fell to the first ball of Hardik Pandya's spell.

Root's reaction suggested he didn't think this was a clean catch. Make your own minds up. That was 86-4.

Youngster Ollie Pope is the one batsman who maybe gets off without too much criticism. He was out to a strangle down the leg side...

This England team - it doesn't matter what the personnel - they haven't got the mentality to cope with it.

Cook's opening partner Keaton Jennings followed on the very next ball.

Jasprit Bumrah did for him. Jennings is starting to run out of chances in this Test team.

Alastair Cook was first to go for 29, another low score for the former captain. He edged behind off Ishant Sharma to make the score 54-1.

But this day is all about another England batting collapse. They lost all 10 wickets in an extended afternoon session.

It is the third time in the last two years that England have been bowled out in a session.

There's a lot to get through so let's get to it...

And in a tricky 40-minute period before lunch Alastair Cook and Keaton Jennings capitalised on some poor India bowling.

They managed to reach 46-0 at the interval.

Remember what we were saying after the morning session? England won it comfortably.

First they blew away the Indian tail...

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya, speaking to Sky Sports after his maiden five-wicket haul: "It has been fantastic for the team. The batsmen have got us a decent lead. As a bowling unit we got together and focussed on bowling in the right areas.

"The ball was swinging in the morning and we tried things with the new ball and they didn't work out. Me and Ishant said we had to tighten the runs up and see what happens."

On his critics: "I'll say one thing lets not worry about me. My team backs me."

India gifted England a great chance of winning the Test match. For England to blow them away with those four wickets and then get a good start, but it was the dismissal of Alastair Cook. When he is in good form he is leaving those. It doesn't surprise me, this England team has a problem. As soon as they are under pressure they don't seem to be able to play the long game.

England batsmen should just be happy they're not going to bump into Geoffrey on their way out of Trent Bridge this evening.
