    Yorks 92-4 (Ballance 43, Leaning 22)

Oh, Neil Wagner shells a glorious chance for Essex.

Gary Ballance miscues one straight back to the bowler, but he can't cling on.

It came to him low, but it's one he should have taken you feel.

  2. Kent 58-0published at 8 overs

    Bell-Drummond 10, Kuhn 48

A bowling change at the other end too, with Harry Gurney coming into the attack.

Heino Kuhn shows no mercy again, with a four off the first ball. Then, he and Bell-Drummond get a single each to bring the 50 up from 45 balls.

Kuhn is dominating, and hits a six down to long off. He just gets enough on it.

Notts need a breakthrough. That was an expensive over.

  3. Yorks 92-4published at 22 overs

    Ballance 43, Leaning 22

Things are starting to look that little bit easier for the Yorkshire batsmen out there.

The runs aren't exactly flowing, as four singles come from Simon Harmer's latest over, but Jack Leaning and Gary Ballance appear to be well set.

Apologies Yorkshire fans if there is now a wicket...

  4. Kent 40-0published at 7 overs

    Bell-Drummond 9, Kuhn 35

Notts make an early change to the bowling attack, as Samit Patel comes on.

Daniel Bell-Drummond gets his first boundary.

Kent are well on the way to chasing down that 256.

  5. Yorks 88-4published at 21 overs

    Ballance 41, Leaning 20

The sun is now shining brightly at Chelmsford as just a couple come off Neil Wagner's over.

Decent batting conditions as these two continue to rebuild for Yorkshire.

  6. Watch the wickets to fall so farpublished at 20.2 overs

    Yorkshire 86-4 (Ballance 39, Leaning 20)

Gary Ballance and Jack Leaning are closing in on a fifty partnership.

It's one that Yorkshire desperately needed after falling to 45-4.

You can watch the four wickets to fall so far below...

  7. Kent 38-0published at 6 overs

    Bell-Drummond 4, Kuhn 34

Four more for Heino Kuhn from Jake Ball's first ball of the sixth over.

He turns another one round the corner down to square on the leg side for two, then sends a shot down to third man for another two.

Final ball, it was another two as Kuhn moves on to 31 from 29 balls.

Kent have started their chase very well, but Bell Drummond has been starved of the strike somewhat.

  8. Yorks 86-4published at 20 overs

    Ballance 39, Leaning 21

    Have some of that Simon!

Simon Harmer drops just short, Gary Ballance swivels and pulls him in front of square with authority.

Ballance now has four boundaries in his 39. Could we see something special from him today?

  9. Yorks 81-4published at 19 overs

    Ballance 34, Leaning 20

Gary Ballance is beginning to time the ball beautifully but keeps on finding the fielders.

A sumptuous cover drive is only good enough for one as two runs come from Neil Wagner's fourth over.

  10. Kent 28-0published at 5 overs

    Bell-Drummond 4, Kuhn 24

Luke Fletcher keeps the first two balls tight, and then Heino Kuhn breaks free of the shackles and sends consecutive balls to the boundary.

He finishes the over with a single and keeps the strike as Jake Ball continues.

Just the four singles from Simon Harmer's fourth over.

I think Gary Ballance and Jack Leaning are just happy to sit in at the moment. Rightly so.

Andrew E Bloomfield: Seems strange to have ODI series for England at same time as One-Day knockout games. Surely ODIs should be run when county championship games are scheduled to avoid teams losing so many one-day specialists as Yorkshire have today, Rashid, Plunkett and Willey.

You can add Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow to that list Andrew.

  13. Kent 19-0published at 4 overs

    Bell-Drummond 4, Kuhn 15

    Jake Ball continues.

Daniel Bell-Drummond pushes one through the off side for three. Heino Kuhn then grabs a four over midwicket before finishing with a single from the last delivery.

  14. Yorks 75-4published at 17 overs

    Ballance 31, Leaning 17

That's a much tighter over from Neil Wagner, just a single from it.

Yorkshire can afford to have a few of those though - they still have 33 overs left. Plenty of time.

Another wicket at this stage - disastrous.

  15. Kent 11-0published at 3 overs

    Bell-Drummond 1, Kuhn 10

Another four for Kuhn, this time off Luke Fletcher from his first ball.

After that, it's five dots for the Notts bowler. He'll be happy with that.

  16. Yorks 74-4published at 16 overs

    Ballance 30, Leaning 17

The runs are just staring to come for Yorkshire here.

Gary Ballance pushes at one outside off stump from Simon Harmer and it flies down to the boundary off an edge.

Six from it and Ballance is up to 30.

  17. Yorks 67-4published at 15 overs

    Ballance 24, Leaning 16

    Shot!

Neil Wagner goes too straight and Jack Leaning clips him to the square-leg rope.

The New Zealander follows it up with a beauty that beats Leaning's edge.

    Seven from the over.

  18. Kent 7-0published at 2 overs

    Bell-Drummond 1, Kuhn 6

Jake Ball is on at the other end, and the sun has come out from behind the clouds for now.

Heino Kuhn flashes the second ball - a full delivery - through the extra covers for four. A lovely shot that one for the first boundary of the innings.

Then he flashes one down to third man and grabs a single. Daniel Bell-Drummond leaves the final ball of the over.

Francis Edwards: Porter keeps taking wickets. Meanwhile, Mark Wood keeps on getting selected, maybe because he's a nice guy? Porter and the Currans should definitely all be featuring for England soon and should get the selector's full support!!!

  20. Yorks 60-4published at 14 overs

    Ballance 21, Leaning 12

Simon Harmer spins the ball into the pad of Jack Leaning - HOWZAT? he screams at the umpire.

Martin Saggers shakes his head. It struck him just outside the line.

Meanwhile, Jamie Porter is out of the attack at the other end - Neil Wagner replaces him.
