  1. Kent 2-0 (target 256)published at 1 over

    Bell-Drummond 1, Kuhn 1

Daniel Bell-Drummond gets off the mark with an edge down to third man from the fourth ball of the over.

Heino Kuhn leaves his first delivery and then guides a shot down to third man himself for a single.

  2. Watch the wickets of Lyth & Tattersallpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 14 June 2018

One shot was pretty brainless to get out, the other was mightily unlucky.

I'll let you decide which was which...

  3. Yorks 59-4published at 13 overs

    Ballance 20, Leaning 12

Jack Leaning hits a couple of fours off Jamie Porter to break the shackles.

The first is streaky as he edges just past slip, the second is a thing of beauty, creamed through the off side.

10 off the over - by far Porter's most expensive of the innings.

  4. Kent 0-0published at 0.1 overs

    Bell-Drummond 0, Kuhn 0

Luke Fletcher, who scored a very handy 53 not out in Nottinghamshire's innings, is opening the bowling for the Outlaws.

Daniel Bell-Drummond dabs the first delivery down to mid off, and there is no run.

  6. Kent require 256 runs to winpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 14 June 2018

    Notts 255-8 (50 overs)

We are just about to get started again at Trent Bridge, with umpires making their way to the wicket.

Nottinghamshire scored 255-8 from their 50 overs, so have a decent total to defend after being reduced to 23-4 early on.

Daniel Bell-Drummond and Heino Kuhn will open the batting for Kent.

Can the Spitfires put out the holders?

The winners of this match face a trip to Worcester on Sunday.

  7. Yorks 49-4published at 12 overs

    Ballance 20, Leaning 2

Time for a bit of spin as Simon Harmer comes into the attack.

It's another tidy one for the hosts - just four singles from it.

Notts recovered well from four down for not many in the other play-off. Yorkshire will have to do the same here.

  8. Yorks 45-4published at 11 overs

    Ballance 19, Leaning 0

That's a double-wicket maiden for Jamie Porter who now has 3-13 from 6 overs.

Jack Leaning and Gary Ballance will need to bat deep into this innings if Yorkshire are going to get anywhere near a competitive score.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10,4 overs

    Tattersall lbw b Porter 0 (Yorks 45-4)

Ooh, that's a bit of a stinker for Jonathan Tattersall.

A ball from Jamie Porter keeps really low and strikes him on the pad in front of all three. Out. Plumb.

This is turning into a nightmare start for Yorkshire.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10.1 overs

    Lyth c Zaidi b Porter 21 (Yorks 45-3)

Essex are definitely on top now!

That's a really poor choice of shot from Adam Lyth. The opener simply guides a short ball from Jamie Porter straight down the throat of Ashar Zaidi on the third-man boundary. Hit it son!

Jonathan Tattersall joins Garry Ballance in the middle - Yorkshire in trouble.

  11. Yorks 45-2published at 10 overs

    Lyth 21, Ballance 19

Gary Ballance has had a stroke of luck there.

The left-hander chops Neil Wagner's second delivery past his stumps and down to the boundary.

The New Zealander is fuming. That's the first powerplay done - Essex slightly on top I'd say.

  12. Yorks 38-2published at 9 overs

    Lyth 20, Ballance 13

I might just start copying and pasting entries for Jamie Porter's overs.

Just the two singles come from his fifth, he has 1-13. Lovely stuff.

Meanwhile left-arm paceman Neil Wagner replaces the less economical Matt Coles for Essex.

  13. Yorks 37-2published at 8.3 overs

    Lyth 19, Ballance 13

Here's the wicket of Harry Brook in the second over.

Yorkshire have rebuilt nicely since the teenager went.

  14. Yorks 36-2published at 8 overs

    Lyth 19, Ballance 11

Adam Lyth is certainly timing the ball nicely but is struggling to pierce the field.

But it's another good over for the visitors - eight from it, including that four over point.

Matt Coles has been expensive - 25 have come from his four overs.

  15. Yorks 33-2published at 7.2 overs

    Lyth 18, Ballance 11

    BOSH!

It's a filthy long hop from Matt Coles and Adam Lyth thwacks him over point for four.

Lyth is extremely dangerous if he gets going.

  16. Yorks 28-2published at 7 overs

    Lyth 14, Ballance 10

That's a bit of luck for Adam Lyth.

Jamie Porter bowls a surprising short ball and the Yorkshire opener spoons it into the air.

It goes inches over Alastair Cook at square leg and trickles to the boundary.

  17. Yorks 23-2published at 6 overs

    Lyth 10, Ballance 9

This is one of the reasons Yorkshire are happy to tick along at the moment.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore was pinned lbw by Jamie Porter second ball.

Just two runs come from Matt Coles' third over.

  18. Yorks 21-2published at 5 overs

    Lyth 8, Ballance 9

Jamie Porter is giving Yorkshire absolutely nothing.

    One from the over.

Has there been a better bowler on the county circuit over the last couple of seasons? I can't think of one.

    Notts 255-8 (50 overs)

    Fabian Cowdrey
Former Kent all-rounder on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Kent have worked so hard over the last two hours to restrict Nottinghamshire to 210-220.

But the bowlers have done brilliantly for Notts to play catch-up.
