19-year-old Tom Haines is only playing in this match because Chris Jordan was called into the England Lions squad late last night.

The young Sussex left-hander, a product of the club's academy, took his opportunity with both hands scoring his maiden first-class century with 18 sumptuous fours.

Together with Phil Salt their partnership is now over 200 as Sussex look to post a big score at Arundel.

My highly-knowledgeable colleague Paul Grunill has just told me the cricket ground at Hastings is no longer there.

I'm led to believe there is now a shopping centre in its place. Sad times.
