  1. Youngsters dominate for Sussexpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 20 June 2018

    Sussex 279-2 v Durham - Tea

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

Until today Tom Haines had a highest score of 11 in first-class cricket and when he joined Phil Salt in the middle in the fourth over of the day nobody could have guessed what was to come.

By the time he departed the 19-year-old left-hander had 124 runs to his name and his second-wicket partnership with Salt was worth 244, the highest for that stand in a match between these two.

Salt also enjoys playing against Durham. His previous best was 72 in Chester-le-Street last September. Today he will be on 126 when he resumes after tea.

It’s easy to say this is a track for the batsmen but Durham’s pace attack has generally lacked potency this season in a first innings. There’s every reason to believe they will concede 400+ for the third time after putting their opponents in, just like they did at home to Leicestershire and away to Derbyshire.

  3. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 20 June 2018

    Essex v Notts 229-3

Ross Taylor walks off for a bite to eat on 110.

It's been a marvelous innings so far from the New Zealander has struck 20 boundaries and found a fine partner in Billy Root (32 not out).

Essex look set to face a mammoth first-innings total.

  4. Somerset ruing decision to bowl?published at 15:55 British Summer Time 20 June 2018

    Surrey 239-2 v Somerset - Tea

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Somerset

Surrey’s session again as they add 141 for just the loss of their captain Rory Burns, lbw playing across the line to Lewis Gregory for 66.

Somerset’s Tom Abell has rung the changes, so far to little avail, and must already be ruing his decision to give Surrey first use of what looks a pretty good batting pitch.

    Worcestershire 184-6 v Lancashire
