Wicketkeeper Jonny Tattersall makes his first-class debut for Yorkshire at the Ageas Bowl after scoring 89 against Hampshire in the One-Day Cup semi-final on the same ground on Monday.

This week, the Yorkshire batsmen are working with former Zimbabwe Test player Grant Flower, the current Pakistan batting coach, this week.

"I’ve asked him to come down here and be around us to see if the lads can glean anything from him," director of cricket Martyn Moxon said.

Yorkshire have won the toss and elected to bat first.

Jonny: Sadly no longer used but Valentine's Park, Ilford was where I first watched Essex and went every year until moving away. Watching greats like Malcolm Marshall bowling to Allan Border in my local park is a very happy memory...

Aidan Watson: Loved watching Glamorgan v Durham last year in Swansea. Went down to the last over with a lovely setting on the sea front.

  9. Good toss to lose for Middlesexpublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 20 June 2018

    Leicestershire 84-3 v Middlesex - lunch

    Kevin Hand
    BBC Radio London

With both sides wanting to bat first, it turned out to be a very good toss to lose at Grace Road as heavy cloud cover rolled in just before the start of play.

Although the pitch lacks pace, the Middlesex bowlers were able to find both swing and seam movement with Tim Murtagh and Steven Finn removing the openers to leave Leicestershire 25-2.

A rain delay meant only 22 overs were possible in the session so the hosts, who also lost Mark Cosgrove to a poor shot after the interruption, will still have a hard ball to face after lunch and they will hope desperately that the grey skies stay away, having seen the sun break out for the first time just as the last ball of the session was bowled.

  10. Decent morning for Sussexpublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 20 June 2018

    Sussex 130-1 v Durham - lunch

    Adrian Harms
    Sports reporter, BBC Sussex

Durham put Sussex in on a grey morning and soon had them in trouble as Luke Wells, who has scored a number of centuries against them, was caught at second slip for eight by Tom Latham, off the bowling of Matt Salisbury.

That was in the fourth over but Durham didn’t taste success with the ball again in the session, thanks to a first half-century from 19-year-old left-hander Tom Haines and one from Phil Salt.

They have put on 121 runs so far for the second wicket. Salt looks set to break his personal best which was 72 in a match at Chester-le-Street last September. He has 59 and Haines 62.

  11. Solid start for Surreypublished at 13:11 British Summer Time 20 June 2018

    Surrey 98-1 v Somerset - lunch

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

A cracking morning between the top two. No toss as Somerset decided to bowl at Guildford, but Arun Harinath and Rory Burns played very calmly against the new ball.

Harinath looked destined for a well deserved fifty but he was LBW to Tom Abell two runs short of that landmark.

Burns is once again leading from the top andSurrey will be happy with their morning's work.

  12. Lunchtime scorespublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 20 June 2018

Northamptonshire v Gloucestershire - Play due to start at 13:30 BST

  13. Lunch at New Roadpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 20 June 2018

    Worcestershire 84-5 v Lancashire

Lancashire are very much on top in Worcester after the seamers ran through Worcestershire's top order.

Joe Mennie was the pick with three wickets.

Daryl Mitchell has battled valiantly for 25, but the former skipper has plenty of work to do in the afternoon session.

  14. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 20 June 2018

    Essex v Notts 109-2

    Ross TaylorImage source, Rex Features

Essex will probably be relived to get into the pavilion following Ross Taylor and Chris Nash's stand of 49 in 10.3 overs before lunch.

But the county champions did get a couple of wickets - Jake Libby and Samit Patel.

    Just about even stevens.

  15. Lunch at Guildfordpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 20 June 2018

    Surrey 98-1 v Somerset

On balance it's probably been Surrey's morning, but that late wicket of Arun Harinath gave the visitors a late boost.

Rory Burns has nudged and nurdled his way to 31, but he's in prime touch at the moment.

    Essex v Notts 97-2

I got a bit distracted by all your great outground pics, but briefly returning to the cricket and Notts are racking up the runs before lunch.

Ross Taylor is the chief architect - he's raced to 24 off 27 balls. Chris Nash is six away from a half-century. A pretty even morning session at Chelmsford I'd say.
