This has been a calamitous start for Durham on day three against Sussex at Arundel.

Danny Briggs starts the rot by pinning Will Smith lbw without adding to his overnight 90.

Then David Wiese compounds the agony with two wickets in two balls, bowling Stuart Poynter and Josh Coughlin.

Nathan Rimmington is also out to David Wiese.

Durham are eight down and 349 behind.

BBC Radio Lancashire's Scott Read has just been on air to say Lancashire's highest ever chase in the County Championship was 388-9 against Leicestershire in 2002.

Good morning and welcome to a glorious day three of this latest round of the County Championship.

Yesterday we saw possibly the best bowling spell of the summer as Surrey's Ryan Patel took 6-5 to dismantle Somerset.

We also witnessed the Worcestershire batsmen punishing Lancashire.

What will today hold? We'll find out in about 15 minutes...
