The White Rose are still behind by two runs going into the final day, mind.

12 balls remain in the day's play and Gary Ballance and Cheteshwar Pujara have put on 26 runs for the third wicket.

Just under five overs left to bowl at the Ageas Bowl this evening.

Gary Ballance is at strike and is on 15. It would be a good news for Yorkshire if he's still there come stumps.

Things have slowed down a bit as the night draws on in Southampton.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Gary Ballance are at the crease, the latter of whom will be looking to have another successful spell with the bat, having scored 109 in Yorkshire's first innings.

Alex Lees will want to stay at the crease for when they return tomorrow and so far he's not doing too badly.

I mean, now I've said that, he'll probably be bowled out in the next few overs..

Yorkshire have clawed down Hampshire's first innings lead of 93 down to 35 as it stands. Plenty of light at the Ageas Bowl as we approach the tail end of the evening session.

A change of bowler for Hampshire as off-spinner Ollie Rayner comes on.

Yorkshire are 46 without loss so far in their second innings, with Alex Lees on 30 and Adam Lyth on 16.

Some calls from Hampshire for lbw on Alex Lees from the bowling of Gareth Berg but it clearly hits his bat and those calls die down.

They're desperate for a wicket. A quick breakthrough could change the face of this match as we approach the midway point of the evening session on day three.

Adam Lyth has been struck by the ball following a Dale Steyn delivery and there's a break in play whilst he's seen to.

He's been attended to by a physio. Meanwhile, Yorkshire currently trail by 61 runs. That gap is narrowing.

Six overs gone in Yorkshire's second innings and Alex Lees is having a good old time with the bat.

He's hit six fours and is on 25. He's partnered by Adam Lyth who's currently on 5.

A cracking opening few overs for Alex Lees. He cannons four boundaries off the bowling of Fidel Edwards within five balls.

The White Rose will want to see some more of that. And me, for that matter.

Durham captain Paul Collingwood told BBC Newcastle:

“It’s been a disappointing day to say the least. The plan was to get up to the new ball unscathed and through the day get past the follow-on and put them under pressure.

“But credit to Sussex, the way they bowled this morning. They got movement through the air and we didn’t have an answer for it. And with the weight of runs they had in the first innings we could not put that pressure on them.

“The one thing we have not done well this season is have a good first day and we need to put that right as soon as possible. We have been excellent in certain games in fighting back but we could not do that in this match.

“The overcast conditions on day one were good for bowling but anything loose we bowled they put away for four and the boundary count in that first innings was huge and it put us under pressure. But credit to Sussex. They have been better than us in this game and have out-skilled us.”
