  1. wicket

Van Niekerk run out 3 (Surrey Stars 61-4)

Another Surrey Stars wicket falls and yet again Fran Wilson is a demon in the field for Western Storm!

Dane van Niekerk tries to take a quick single to point off Stafanie Taylor but she's short of her ground by some distance as Wilson throws to the non-striker's end with a direct hit.

  2. Surrey Stars 60-3published at 9 overs

Another decent over from Danielle Gibson for Western Storm.

Just four runs from it as Nat Sciver and Dane van Niekerk try to rotate the strike.

  3. 'That was a little bit silly'published at 12:35 British Summer Time 27 August 2018

    Alex Hartley
England spin bowler on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

That wicket of Sarah Taylor is everything Surrey didn't want to happen, they just don't need to be taking risks like that. They got the five off the over, they don't need another boundary.

I feel like that was a little bit silly from Sarah Taylor.

  4. Surrey Stars 56-3published at 8 overs

    Sciver 3, Van Niekerk 1

Tricky time this for Surrey now who are trying to avenge their semi-final defeat by the same opposition last year.

Dane van Niekerk is in at number five for the Stars who need a partnership now after being put in.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7.3 overs

    Taylor c Wilson b Taylor 15 (Surrey Stars 53-3)

Sarah Taylor gone and another big wicket comes Western Storm's way.

Brilliant diving catch from Fran Wilson as Taylor tries to reverse sweep Stafanie Taylor for a second time in her first over.

That is a quite brilliant bit of fielding though by England international Wilson, make sure you watch the video of this over and over.

  6. Surrey Stars 49-2published at 7 overs

    Taylor 11, Sciver 1

Danielle Gibson becomes the fourth bowler to be used by Western Storm and she keeps a nice neat line and length to Sarah Taylor and Nat Sciver.

No boundaries and just the five runs from her opening over.

  7. 'That is another big breakthrough'published at 12:25 British Summer Time 27 August 2018

    Lydia Greenway
Ex-England batter on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

That's another big breakthrough for Western Storm - Bryony Smith is just looking to go straight over the top but it's an inside edge by the looks of it.

  8. Surrey Stars 44-2published at 6 overs

    Freya Davies 3-0-13-1

End of the Powerplay for Surrey Stars and while they'll no doubt be content with the run-rate, those two wickets will disappoint them.

England internationals Sarah Taylor and Nat Sciver together now at the crease as Freya Davies continues her very impressive spell with the ball.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 5.3 overs

    Smith b Davies 11 (Surrey Stars 44-2)

Wicket time again for Western Storm just as a partnership was threatening there for Surrey.

Bryony Smith tries to heave Freya Davies into the legside, but she gets in a real tangle and seems to inside edge the ball on to her pads before it then trickles back on to her own stumps.

    Smith 15, Taylor 4

Claire Nicholas comes into the Western Storm attack with some spin and it's a tidy start until Sarah Taylor gets going with her first four off the final delivery.

Beautiful shot from the England wicketkeeper as she just lofts it over the infield straight down the ground with a one-bounce four.

  13. Surrey Stars 30-1published at 4 overs

Western Storm won the toss and elected to bowl

Sarah Taylor heads out to join Bryony Smith at the crease while Freya Davies continues her neat start with the ball.

Nine off the over as Smith moves to 10 with a neat boundary into the legside, Taylor has faced just two balls without getting off the mark.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 3 overs

    Lee c Priest b Shrubsole 19 (Surrey Stars 21-1)

First wicket of the day and it's a big one for the defending champions Western Storm.

Lizelle Lee was threatening to play a big innings in this semi-final but Anya Shrubsole has her caught behind by Rachel Priest with the finest of nicks.

Lee was starting to cut loose with three fours in that over - one just behind square, another with some power over the top through the covers and then the third down the ground to long-on.

But Shrubsole has the last laugh with a beauty that just shapes back and surprises the Surrey opener.

Western Storm won toss and elected to bowl

And here is right-arm seamer Freya Davies to share the new ball with Anya Shrubsole.

She also beats Lizelle Lee's edge with her first ball. Some nice early away swing for Davies under the overcast Hove skies.

Just the three singles for the Stars from that tidy set of six balls.

  17. England incentive for youngsterspublished at 12:06 British Summer Time 27 August 2018

Apart from the prospect of winning a trophy, there is another prize at stake for any players who produce eye-catching performances today.

England coach Mark Robinson has provided plenty of additional incentive by stating that up to five places are still up for grabs in his squad for November's World Twenty20.

"We will look at what people have done over a period of time, but Monday does add an extra dimension," he said.

"We are looking for players who can perform when it really matters. Players outside the current squad like Freya Davies, Linsey Smith and Sophia Dunkley have had good tournaments. We're watching to see how they perform on the day."

  18. Surrey Stars 5-0published at 1 over

Western Storm won toss and elected to bowl

Anya Shrubsole's first over is a mixed bag of a beauty that beats Lizelle Lee's outside edge followed by a rank short ball that the South African pulls away for the first four of the day.

Lee adds another single into the legside for a steady start by the Stars.
