  1. NORTHANTS WIN BY SEVEN WICKETSpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 30 August 2018
    Breaking

    Durham 129 & 133 v Northants 198 & 65-3

Not a great match for batsman on either side really, but 60 from Alex Wakely and 47 from Adam Rossington in the first innings helped the visitors to a precious lead of 69.

Great effort from Ben Sanderson with the ball, who ends with match figues of 7 for 80.

Cameron Steel battled hard for a second innings 50 for the hosts but there was little support elsewhere after Paul Collingwood fell for 27.

    50 for Tom Kohler-Cadmorepublished at 16:44 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

    Yorkshire 223-5 v Somerset 399

The sixth wicket Yorkshire pair continue to draw the sting from the Somerset attack as Kohler-Cadmore reaches 50 with a clip to the on-side off Craig Overton for a very tight but manageable two.

70 balls with five fours and two sixes.

The bowler is really ticking now.

  3. 50 runs

50 for Andrew Hoddpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

    Yorkshire 221-5 v Somerset 399

A valuable knock for the White Rose after struggling earlier in the day.

The batsman brings up the landmark off 80 balls with a push through the off side for two off Jack Leach. Nine fours in that innings.

  4. wicket

    WICKET Gurney b T Curran 0published at 16:41 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

    Surrey 375 v Nottinghamshire 101

A five-wicket haul for Tom Curran on his return to red-ball cricket!

He bowls Harry Gurney for a duck and Notts are all out for a measly 101 - 274 runs behind Surrey.

Curran's figures of 5-28 are phenomenal... surely Surrey will put their opponents back in?

Ed Barnard guilty of trying to force things too much and finds Haseeb Hameed at the mid-wicket boundary.

He's gone for 24 off Graham Onions and Worcestershire are 174-7, with a lead of 235 runs.

Ben Twohig joins Wayne Parnell for the Pears, who will be eyeing a buffer of more than 250.

  9. Division Two round-uppublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

Here's the latest in our Division Two games this evening...

Northants are 41-2 in their second innings, chasing a target of 65 to beat Durham at the Riverside. Runs have been hard to come by on both sides, with just one batsman from each passing 50.

Derbyshire have lost their first wicket at Derby but remain in reasonable shape on 99-1 albeit 462 behind Kent after the visitors made 561.

Warwickshire are now 143 ahead of Glamorgan on 345-6 at Colwyn Bay, with Ian Bell on 160 not out.

Gloucestershire earned an innings lead of 91 over Leicestershire after bowling them out for 111 at Bristol. They're 32-0 on second innings and lead by 123.

At Lord's, Middlesex are 130-4 on their second innings at tea and lead Sussex by 128. Stevie Eskinazi and Eoin Morgan have both departed early within three overs but Dawid Malan is resisting on 36 not out.

  10. wicket

  11. 50 runs

50 for Ryan ten Doeschatepublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

    Essex 236-4 v Hampshire

That's his 4th 50 of the Championship summer, one of which was converted into 173 not out.

That would be a mighty effort on this surface.

He gets there off 65 balls with his sixth four, driven through the off side off the bowling of Ian Holland. One six in the mix as well.

  12. Nearly but not quitepublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

    Yorkshire 202-5 v Somerset 399

Big lbw appeal by Craig Overton against Andrew Hodd but that's not been given.

The bowler beats him all ends up next ball but can't find the edge. And again! Who'd be a bowler?

  13. Play resumes at The Ovalpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

    Surrey 375 v Nottinghamshire 88-7

Ollie Pope has arrived for Surrey and takes the place of Ryan Jacks, who's played very well.

Notts resume on 88-7, with Tom Moores (22*) and Luke Fletcher (3*) in the middle.

They're some 287 runs behind at The Oval, where we have 44 overs to play.

Kohler-Cadmore lays into Leachpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

    Yorkshire 202-5 v Somerset 399

No hanging about from Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who strides forward and belts Jack Leach over the top for his second maximum.

    Five dots balls thereafter.

  15. Evening session begins at Chelmsfordpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

    Essex 229-4 v Hampshire

They had a bit of a wobble - sliding from 117-1 to 124-4 in a rocky half hour period this afternoon, but Dan Lawrence and his captain Ryan ten Doeschate have put on 105 since then.

There's still movement out there for the bowelrs but a little less as the ball has softened with age.

  16. Back under way at Southportpublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

    Lancashire 161 v Worcestershire 222 & 159-6 (lead by 220 runs)

We're into the final session of day two - where there's 32 overs to be bowled.

It's Graham Onions to bowl for Lancashire, who need to get Worcestershire out sharpish if they are to maintain a realistic chance of victory.

Remember, the Red Rose are bottom of Division One and the Pears are their closest rivals.

  17. Play resumes at Headingleypublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

    Yorkshire 195-5 v Somerset 399

Somerset are still in a good position but will feel the game has drifted away from them a little bit since Kohler-Cadmore and Andrew Hodd put on 76 together, surviving the odd scare along the way.

Encouraging signs of turn and bounce for Jack Leach just before the break...

  18. Bears staying strong in promotion racepublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

    Glamorgan 203 v Warwickshire 337-5

    Nick Webb
BBC Wales Sport at Colwyn Bay

Veteran England batsman Ian Bell continued his dominance of Glamorgan’s bowlers as he passed 20,000 first class runs at Colwyn Bay.

Bell reached the landmark when he had made 104, and strolled past the 150 mark just before tea to add to the two unbeaten centuries he took off Glamorgan at Edgbaston in June.

Sam Hain was the only wicket of the afternoon session, brilliantly caught at cover by Kiran Carlson off Ruaidhri Smith on 61.

Warwickshire look well in control of the match as they look to stay in control of the Division Two promotion race.

  19. Time to leave Collingwood out?published at 16:05 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

    Durham 129 & 133 v Northants 198 & 9-0 - TARGET 65

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

In the 1996 season Durham went through an entire campaign without a win. Thankfully I didn't witness it but it must have taken some viewing.

This season they have won three but have regularly served up horror show batting in their home games.

Today they were bowled out for 133 to add to their tally of just 129 in their first innings yesterday. Most of the batsmen gave the impression they didn't want to be out there and it means Northants need just 65 runs to pick up their third win of the season.

Maybe it's time to leave Paul Collingwood out as well? It's a bold suggestion. I didn't think I would see the day when it would need to be raised.

But Durham's 42-year-old captain is really struggling this season. Hampered by an achilles problem and a severe loss of form. He's averaging just 12.9 in the four-day format. There are not many captains who could hold down a regular place in a side while struggling so.

  20. Tea at The Ovalpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 30 August 2018

    Surrey 375 v Nottinghamshire 88-7

It's a special session from Surrey, who are many people's champions elect.

Three wickets for Tom Curran and two each for Morne Morkel and Conor McKerr have reduced Notts to 88-7, some 287 runs behind the leaders.

You wouldn't have predicted this just after lunch yesterday when Surrey were toiling on 36-3!
