  1. Moeen stars with bat and ballpublished at 18:40 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Yorks 216 & 140 v Worcs 572-7 dec

Yorkshire have really battened down the hatches here, with just two runs in the last three overs.

Maiden over for Moeen. What a day he's had. A double hundred and four second innings wickets.

Yorkshire face a huge deficit of 216 runs and will have to try and get to parity without Kane Williamson, who was caught behind off Wayne Parnell for 61.

  2. Lancashire still in hunt at Ovalpublished at 18:36 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

'Tea' arrives at The Oval with Lancashire consolidating following the loss of opener Haseeb Hameed.

Rob Jones is 29 not out, settling into his innings after a frenetic start, with Dane Vilas on three.

The Red Rose county need another 178 for victory - the unbeaten Division One leaders need eight wickets.

One session to go today under the lights.

  3. Holden inspires Middlesex fightbackpublished at 18:32 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Northamptonshire 346 v Middlesex 187 & 374-9

Middlesex bat through the entire third day's play, adding 342 runs for the loss of eight wickets to give themselves a chance of winning a match in which they had to follow-on.

After 72 by opener Sam Robson, they lost England's Dawid Malan and Eoin Morgan cheaply and Northants must have been scenting a three-day win.

But Max Holden, who was on loan at Wantage Road last summer, made 94 and put on 121 with James Harris, who is still there at the close on 79.

Middlesex's lead is 215 with one wicket remaining. Rory Kleinveldt and Nathan Buck both took three wickets for the home side.

  4. Notts in troublepublished at 18:28 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Hants 277 & 399-7 dec v Notts 166 & 115-4

A change of crash helmet for Wessels, who mercifully is OK. He sees out the over and there are seven left in the day.

    Yorks 216 & 138-6 v Worcs 572-7 dec

Goodness me, can Yorkshire see out the day?

Bresnan edges to Mitchell at slip and goes for a duck.

Three overs left as David Willey tries to stop the rot.

    Hants 277 & 399-7 dec v Notts 166 & 114-4

Fidel Edwards has seven wickets to his name in this match and looks in the mood for more as he hits Wessels on the head with a short one.

The physio is on his way...

  7. wicket

WICKET Williamson c Cox b Parnell 61published at 18:17 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Yorks 216 & 136-5 v Worcs 572-7 dec

Six overs left. Can Williamson survive?

Wayne Parnell tests him with a bouncer but it's well wide of off stump and the batsman sways out of harm's way and steers the next ball just wide of the slips for a couple...

He's out! Parnell has him caught behind! Huge wicket.

  8. So far, so good for Essexpublished at 18:17 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Somerset 324 & 202 v Essex 191 & 147-1

Nick Browne and Tom WestleyImage source, Rex Features

What a final day we have in prospect at Taunton after Essex reach the close with only one wicket down, needing another 189 for victory.

Captain Ryan ten Doeschate said after day two that he was hoping his side could keep Somerset's lead below 300, but their target was 336 after bowling out the home side for 202.

Despite the loss of Varun Chopra for 24, Nick Browne and Tom Westley have shared an unbroken stand of 89 and they will fancy their chances if they can avoid early setbacks on the final morning.

Browne will resume 75 not out, with Westley on 43.

50 for Williamsonpublished at 18:12 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Yorks 216 & 133-4 v Worcs 572-7 dec

He's stood on the burning deck in both innings and delivered for Yorkshire. Crucial for the White Rose that he sees out the day.

  10. Dawson hunting for wicketspublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Hants 277 & 399-7 dec v Notts 166 & 103-4

It's been quite a workout for Dawson, who is into his 20th over today.

Mullaney takes a single to move to 22.

He gets one to turn sharply outside just the off stump but Wessels keeps his bat out of the way.

    10 overs left today.

  11. wicket

WICKET Hameed (lbw Morkel) 20published at 18:08 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Surrey 211 & 306 v Lancashire 247 & 83-2

Batsmen can never relax against Morne Morkel and Surrey's South African fast bowler makes a second breakthrough by having Haseeb Hameed leg before.

Haseeb dipped down after his front pad was struck, perhaps suggesting that the ball kept it little low, but the video suggests otherwise - a perfectly orthodox dismissal.

Dane Vilas is the new Lancashire batsman - and they need another 188 to win this game.

  12. Yorkshire four down at Scarboroughpublished at 18:05 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Yorks 216 & 129-4 v Worcs 572-7 dec

Ed Barnard back in the attack, replacing Moeen. Tattersall edges just wide third slip for a couple and then ducks under a bouncer.

Barnard strays down the leg side and Tattersall gets an easy single.

    Three off the over.

  13. DECLARATION Derbyshire face tough targetpublished at 18:04 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Sussex 440 & 353-6 dec v Derbyshire 389

Sussex decide they have enough of a lead at Hove and declare in order to have a few overs at Derbyshire before the close.

Phil Salt's brilliant 148 was the cornerstone of their second innings total and there were two sixes by Jofra Archer in his unbeaten 31 off 24 balls before Ben Brown decided enough was enough.

It's a good batting wicket, but Derbyshire need 405 to win.

    Hants 277 & 399-7 dec v Notts 166 & 102-4

Dawson floats one up to Mullaney - who is happy to block. This is a patience game for both sides here.

Mullaney chops a shorter ball through the offside for his third four. That takes Notts past 100.

    409 behind. 12 overs left.

  15. Jones turns aggressorpublished at 17:57 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Surrey 211 & 306 v Lancashire 247 & 75-1

Lancashire's Rob Jones appears to be taking his lead from Alex Davies. A beautiful stroke off Amar Virdi for six is followed by an audacious reverse sweep for four in his latest over.

Jones has 18, Haseeb Hameed is 16 not out, and Lancashire's target is down below 200.

    Yorks 216 & 126-4 v Worcs 572-7 dec

    Moeen AliImage source, Rex Features

Moeen is really tossing it up here - inviting the drive from Tattersall, but the keeper batsman does so safely.

Maiden over. Still 10 left in the day's play.

  17. Notts four down at the Ageas Bowlpublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Hants 277 & 399-7 dec v Notts 166 & 98-4

Dawson drifts down the leg side and Steven Mullaney plays defensively with bat and pad. Notts will be desperate for him to see out the day after losing 4 wickets for under 100.

    And here comes Fidel Edwards...

  18. Worcestershire press for more wicketspublished at 17:51 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Yorks 216 & 122-4 v Worcs 572-7 dec

Moeen is getting some awkward grip and bounce here but Tattersall survives.

Wayne Parnell is back into the attack, replacing Josh Tongue.

  19. Notts four down at the Ageas Bowlpublished at 17:48 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Hants 277 & 399-7 dec v Notts 166 & 93-4

Riki Wessels eases Liam Dawson into mid wicket for a couple.

Wessels is squared up a bit by the fifth ball but pushes it back safely to the bowler and pads away the sixth.

418 behind and 16 overs left.

  20. Essex pair in controlpublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Somerset 324 & 202 v Essex 191 & 132-1

There are six overs left in the day's play at Taunton and Essex will have every right to feel very satisfied if Nick Browne and Tom Westley can see it through to stumps.

Browne flicks a leg-stump delivery from Jamie Overton away fine for four and when the fast bowler drops the next one short, he slaps it away over cover for another boundary.

The left-hander now has 68 and Westley is on 36 - their partnership is worth 74, and Essex need another 204 to win.
