    Here's the scene a few minutes ago at Taunton, where Somerset and Essex are preparing to resume a highly competitive Division One contest.

    Following Warwickshire's two-day win over Gloucestershire, we have eight games left and they are all building nicely, with none of them at this stage looking like a 'nailed-on' draw.

    Barring persistent rain in Cardiff, it looks like Glamorgan will be contemplating another defeat in the not too distant future, but they have three wickets left and sometimes miracles do occur in cricket.

    Anyway, seven games begin in about 30 minutes' time, with the Surrey v Lancashire 'day-nighter' following at 13:30. Welcome to our coverage.
