Kent complete an ultimately comfortable sixth Championship victory of the summer as Sean Dickson and Heino Kuhn share an unbroken partnership of 215 against Leicestershire at Grace Road.

Dickson hit four sixes and 14 fours in his 134, but it was Kuhn who picked up the winning single off Ateeq Javid to finish unbeaten on 96.

Coming together at 38-2, after an excellent new-ball spell by Mohammad Abbas brought him two wickets, they carried their side home in the 55th over - a fine effort after conceding a 25-run first-innings deficit.

They move up to second in the table, pending the outcome of Sussex's game against Derbyshire, after earning 19 points, while Leicestershire take four.

A single off Dom Bess carries Essex opener Nick Browne to a 93-ball half-century, and his second-wicket partnership with Tom Westley is developing nicely at Taunton. As it happens, all three fifties scored by Browne this season have come against the same opponents.

Westley has had a wretched summer so far, but he sweeps for four later in the same over to move on to 19 not out. Essex need another 239 for a fourth win of the summer.

Kane Williamson is playing a bit of a lone hand here, with 36 off 45 balls so far.

Tongue bowls a bouncer and the batsman is forced to swerve back and leave.

Brathwaite gets an edge down to third man off Dawson and runs two.

Kent are closing in on victory at Grace Road, with opener Sean Dickson reaching the seventh first-class hundred of his career. He has hit two sixes and 12 fours in an unbeaten 102, and his partnership with Heino Kuhn (80*) is worth 167. The visitors need another 48 to win.

Ooh! Gary Ballance edges Moeen just wide of second slip and is beaten outside off stump with the next ball.

The Williamson-Pennington contest is on hold as Josh Tongue comes on to bowl.

Something has got Alex Davies' dander up, it would appear. South African Morne Morkel takes up the attack for Surrey and is flayed through the covers for four before the Lancashire opener smashes the next one in a similar direction for six.
