  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

    Leach c Alsop b Steyn 6 (Hampshire v Somerset 106)

Second-placed Somerset are all out for 106.

Jack Leach edges Dale Steyn behind for six - the South African finishes with figures of 3-37.

But Kyle Abbott has been the star of the show with 5-31, though 2-5 for Ian Holland off eight overs is also eye-catching.

Somerset dismissed in 37 overs after choosing to bat. It's overcast in Southampton but this is unusual to see. No batting points for them and Surrey will be smiling.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

    J Clarke c R Clarke b Curran 0 (Worcs 88-3 v Surrey)

Suddenly, it's all change at New Road with two wickets in four balls, in the same Tom Curran over.

This time, after a stunning leg-cutter to remove Ollie Westbury, he gets the prize wicket of England contender Joe Clarke, with a stunning catch from Rlkki Clarke.

The former England all-rounder belies his age (37 at the end of this month) by diving low to his left to take a superb one-handed catch.

  3. Division Two round-uppublished at 13:50 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

They're just restarted at Chester-le-Street where they have bowled just three overs because of bad light - Durham are 9-0 against promotion-chasers Sussex.

Leaders Warwickshire have started their first innings after dismissing Leicestershire for just 100 at Grace Road. Opener Will Rhodes got them off the mark and they are already on to 14-0 after three.

James Fuller and Ollie Rayner have put on 37 runs for Middlesex since lunch, taking them to 117-7 against Kent.

Northants opener Ben Curran made his half-century before being caught for 51 - his side are 119-4 against Derbyshire at Wantage Road.

Glamorgan have lost three more wickets since lunch.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

    James c Lawrence b Coles 1 (Notts 104-8 v Essex)

I'm struggling to keep up with the wickets - Notts aren't faring much better than Somerset!

Essex's Matt Coles has his third wicket, with Notts debutant Lyndon James caught by Dan Lawrence at third slip for one.

It's the third wicket since lunch - Notts are 104-8 and Luke Fletcher is in with Luke Wood.

    Westbury b Curran 22 (Worcs 88-2)

Only a second wicket of the day for Surrey, as Tom Curran bowls Ollie Westbury to end the former England Under-19s man's resistance on his Championship debut.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

    C Overton c Alsop b Steyn 12 (Hampshire v Somerset 97-9)

Jamie Overton went for a second-ball duck and now brother Craig Overton is also out for Somerset.

He edges Dale Steyn behind and the visitors are 97-9.

Kyle Abbott has a five-wicket haul and Jack Leach and Josh Davey have the task of trying to take their side into three figures.

  7. 50 runs

50 Tom Fellpublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

    Worcestershire 87-1 v Surrey

A half century for Tom Fell against Surrey.

Only his third this season, his second against Surrey this season (having also made 88 at The Oval in May) and his 20th overall, in first-class cricket.

  8. Foxes bowled out for 100published at 13:34 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

Leicestershire 100 all out v Warwickshire

Division Two leaders Warwickshire win the race to be the first team to bowl out their opposition today.

Leicestershire are shot out just after lunch for a round 100.

Three wickets each for Keith Barker and Olly Stone, two for England's Chris Woakes (plus a run-out, when picked up in his follow through a few yards away on the offside to run out Mark Cosgrove).

But the most important is the one for Chris Wright. He got the last one, David Sayer, bowled for 6, to end the innings.

Glamorgan and Middlesex may not be far behind though.

Middlesex are 117-7 against Kent, while Glamorgan have been reduced to 122-8 by Gloucestershire, also on home soil at Cardiff.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

    Patel c Harmer b Quinn 19 (Notts 96-7 v Essex)

    Essex celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Now Matthew Quinn has a third wicket for Essex and it's a big one - Samit Patel is out.

The experienced all-rounder edges the New Zealander to second slip, where Simon Harmer takes the catch.

Notts have debutant Lyndon James and number nine Luke Wood in the middle and are 96-7 - it doesn't look good at all.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:30 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

Davies lbw Abbott 4 (Hampshire v Somerset 83-7)

Kyle Abbott has figures of 4-25 - what a turnaround in form it's been for the Hampshire bowler.

Somerset's man to go is Steve Davies. He's not decisive enough with his defensive shot and is bowled after some late movement.

The visitors now 83-7 and Jamie Overton joins his brother Craig in the middle.

  11. 50 runs

    50 Tom Kohler-Cadmorepublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

    Yorkshire 99-4 v Lancashire

Tom Kohler-Cadmore hits his ninth four to go to his 17th first-class half-century.

A very good innings, coming on top of a ton at Trent Bridge last week.

How expensive will it prove that he should have been caught behind off Graham Onions for 44 in the penultimate over of the morning session - but was spilled by wicketkeeper Dane Vilas.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

Moores lbw Quinn 7 (Notts 91-6 v Essex)

And Notts are also six down at Trent Bridge!

Tom Moores tries to work Matthew Quinn into the leg side but a very full, straight delivery hits him in the pads.

The ball swung and it looks a close call, but he's on his way for seven and Notts are 91-6 against Somerset and welcome debutant Lyndon James to the crease.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:15 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

Gregory lbw Abbott 2 (Hampshire v Somerset 74-6)

Lewis Gregory is dismissed LBW by Kyle Abbott in the first over after lunch and it looks absolutely plumb.

The ball stays low and the Somerset batsman goes for two and is on his way before the umpire's finger is raised.

It's three wickets for Abbott and Somerset are 74-6 in Southampton, with Craig Overton next in.

  14. Back under waypublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

We're off and running again after a busy first morning in which 40 wickets fell.

15 in Division One. 25 in the four matches in Division Two.

  15. Cooke counters in Cardiffpublished at 13:08 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

    Glamorgan 109-6 v Gloucestershire

    Nick Webb
    BBC Wales Sport

Gloucestershire’s bowlers caused early havoc in Cardiff as the struggling home batsmen crashed to 21-5 after being inserted.

Craig Miles (4-42) and David Payne (2-23) had the top order all at sea with half the side out in 10.3 overs.

Chris Cooke then led a counter-attack, reaching his 50 off just 42 balls with a volley of boundaries, before the returning Miles had him caught behind for 60.

Graham Wagg (23*) lasted until lunch, when Gloucestershire remained on top.

  16. Kent well on top at Lord'spublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

    Middlesex 80-7 v Kent

    Matt Cole
    Sports Editor, BBC Radio Kent

When captain Sam Billings elected to put Middlesex in on the first morning here at Lord’s it appeared a marginal call, with the sun shining and a decent-looking pitch.

Even with the formidable Matt Henry opening up from the pavilion end, the first eight overs passed more or less without incident as the openers settled in.

But the prolific New Zealander started the rot, having Nick Gubbins caught at slip for 17. And what followed was a procession as Darren Stevens took three wickets and Harry Podmore two against his old club just before lunch, while Henry weighed in with a run-out to boot.

Middlesex’s batting line up has looked hesitant against a persistent Kent attack, and the pitch has shown some life in the first session, but Kent are so far a long way ahead in the battle between the two promotion-chasing sides.

  17. Good toss to lose for Hantspublished at 12:54 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

    Hampshire v Somerset 71-5

    Kevan James
Sports presenter at BBC Radio Solent

The ball has swung a little all morning, and the Hampshire bowlers have all been very accurate.

Non more so than Ian Holland. His 8 overs have cost just 5 runs and he’s taken two wickets.

This may have been a good toss to lose

  18. Surrey not doing much wrongpublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

    Worcestershire 70-1 v Surrey

    Mark Church
BBC Radio London commentator at New Road

    Tom CurranImage source, Getty Images

Proper old morning of cricket. Surrey have bowled well but only have the wicket of Daryl Mitchell to show for it.

Tom Fell has had his moments but is 41 not out and, on his Championship debut, Ollie Westbury has shaped up very nicely.

Surrey will feel if they bowl like they did this morning the wickets will come.
