  1. wicket

    WICKET Kohler-Cadmore (c Alsop b Holland) 33published at 17:26 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Yorks 184 & 132-4 v Hants 157 (lead by 159)

    Got him!

Superb take from Tom Alsop, standing right up to the stumps - as Tom Kohler-Cadmore edges Ian Holland behind to end a stand of 51 in just under 11 overs with Adam Lyth.

    Jonny Tattersall's turn to bat.

  2. wicket

WICKET Milton (lbw b Harmer 38)published at 17:25 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Worcestershire 94 & 138-4 v Essex 474-7 dec

Dropped on 17, Alex Milton can't punish Essex by making a big score.

He's given out lbw trying to work the off-spin of Simon Harmer down to fine leg.

  3. Lewis condemns "unacceptable" battingpublished at 17:23 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Leics 321 beat Durham 61 & 66 by an inns & 194 runs

Durham coach Jon Lewis has been speaking after his side's crushing defeat by Leicestershire.

Durham recorded their worst ever performance with the bat in the first innings, before posting their second worst ever score in the second innings.

    He told BBC Radio Newcastle:

“It is unacceptable and I can’t use words you can broadcast to describe it and how I really feel. It is the first time I have used the word embarrassed about one of my teams but it was an embarrassment."

Asked if it was a cowardly performance, he said: “Cowardly is a strong word, I can see why you might use it but it is unacceptable. There is no hiding from it, from any point of view.

“It is not the first time this year a bowler in their first spell has not just done us damage but blown us away. But at the moment we are still reeling and it is upsetting.”

  4. Warwickshire frustrated at Hovepublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Sussex 177-5 v Warwks 440

The ball isn't doing much for the seamers here and Warwickshire frustrations are compounded by a throw from Keith Barker at mid on with no backing up at the other end.

That's a single plus four overthrows gifted to Sussex.

  5. ouch!

Tough going at Headingleypublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Yorks 184 & 127-3 v Hants 157 (lead by 154)

He's bowling round the wicket here and Adam Lyth is gutsy in defense.

Holland gets one to nip back in sharply and Lyth is hit on the hand.

The ball falls short of slip and the opener grits his teeth and bats on.

  6. wicket

WICKET Selman (c Kuhn b Stevens 12)published at 17:18 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Glamorgan 186 & 12-1 v Kent 436

    He's not bad for a 42-year-old.

Kent seamer Darren Stevens gets a daft amount of movement off the seam to find Nick Selman's outside edge, Heino Kuhn taking the catch at second slip.

Not much the young Glamorgan man could have done about that one.

  7. Stumps at Somersetpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Surrey 485 v Somerset 122-9

The rain has settled in at Taunton, bringing about an early end to the second day.

It was another fine day for champions Surrey before the weather got in the way, Dean Elgar's 110 and Conor McKerr's 3-20 the highlights.

Somerset need their final pair to score another 253 runs to avoid the follow-on. It seems unlikely.

  8. 6 runs

Patel punished by Wiesepublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Sussex 166-5 v Warwks 440

An appeal from Jeetan Patel but Ben Brown is outside the line.

Brown tries to drive but can't get it past Olly Stone at mid off.

He gets a single this time and David Wiese puts his long levers to good effect with a mow over the bowler's head for a maximum.

  9. Worcs holding Essex at baypublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Worcestershire 94 & 120-3 v Essex 474-7 dec

Worcestershire are showing the sort of fight that has been too often been lacking this County Championship season.

Joe Clarke is unbeaten on 69 alongside Alex Milton, with their partnership now worth 76 runs.

Relegation still looms for the Pears, but that T20 Blast triumph a few days ago must go a long way to easing the disappointment.

  10. Brown and Wiese rebuild for Sussexpublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Sussex 159-5 v Warwks 440

These two have put on 68 together now.

Chris Wright is giving David Wiese nothing to hit here though - until now!

Wright strays down leg and is swatted through mid wicket for four.

72 for the 6th wicket and counting.

  11. Can Hampshire break through?published at 17:04 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Yorks 184 & 105-3 v Hants 157 (lead by 133)

The runs are flowing a little too easily for Hampshire's liking in a low-scoring game where even 200 might be a tough target.

Liam Dawson has a man on the drive and he keeps the runs down to two in his over.

Still beyond four an over on average, though - and Adam Lyth is on 33, the highest individual score so far.

  12. wicket

WICKET Henry (c Lawlor b Bull 31)published at 17:02 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Glamorgan 186 v Kent 436

It has been a brilliant day's work with the bat for Kent

Matt Henry is the last man out, caught off off-spinner Kieran Bull as he attempting to lift the ball over the leg-side field.

    Kent lead by 250 runs.

  13. Sussex attackpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Sussex 146-5 v Warwks 440

Warwickshire still have 14 overs left tonight to get into the tail - but that's a fine shot from Ben Brown, who crashes the ball through the off side for four and then grabs a single with a nudge around the corner.

Will Rhodes almost forces one between bat and pad but David Wiese survives.

The next ball is down leg and hammered through mid wicket for four.

Can Chris Wright stem the flow?

  14. Bad light at Lord'spublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Middlesex 423 v Derbyshire 188-6

It's not a surprise at this time of year, but bad light is causing problems around the country.

Turns out, there's another problem keeping the players off at Lord's...

  15. Kohler-Cadmore on the attackpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Yorks 184 & 94-3 v Hants 157 (lead by 121)

Kyle Abbott has taken a bit of a pummeling from the batsman with a couple of slogs and a more orthodox drive all sending the ball through the off side for fours.

12 off the over. That top score of 30 might be bettered soon.

  16. Milton dropped on 17published at 16:53 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Worcestershire 94 & 101-3 v Essex 474-7 dec

Worcestershire get a little bit of luck at last.

Alex Milton edges a Matt Coles delivery to first slip but Dan Lawrence can't make the catch.

  17. Rain sets in at Somersetpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Surrey 485 v Somerset 122-9

The prospects of any further play at Taunton are dwindling.

Bad light forced the players off and now the rain has started to fall.

  18. wicket

WICKET Ballance (lbw b Dawson) 11published at 16:46 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Yorks 184 & 81-3 v Hants 157 (lead by 108)

Liam Dawson has got a prize wicket here.

Gary Ballance is struck in front of the stumps... A dramatic pause as the umpire slowly raises his finger.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore is Yorkshire's number five.

Can Hampshire keep the target under 200?

  19. White Rose in controlpublished at 16:44 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Yorks 184 & 77-2 v Hants 157

Gary Ballance is sturdy in defense against Kyle Abbott.

But then the bowler spears one straight through him and the ball bounces over the top just wide of the off peg.

Ballance gets a single off the fifth and Lyth defends.

  20. Stumps at Bristolpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Gloucestershire 125 v Northamptonshire 173

They've been off for quite some time at Bristol and the umpires have finally given up.

Gloucestershire are set to start their second innings on day three trailing Northants by 48 runs.

The forecast looks pretty grim though, so it's possible we won't see any play until Friday.
