WICKET Mitchell (lbw b Porter 0)published at 14:54 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Worcestershire 94 & 4-2 v Essex

Perhaps Jamie Porter is angry at being omitted from our team of the season selector?

Whatever it is, he's looking pretty fired up at Chelmsford, bagging his second wicket of the second innings as he gets Daryl Mitchell with one that keeps very low.

WICKET Finch (lbw b Barker) 0published at 14:51 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

Can he pick up his sixth wicket?

    Leicestershire 321 v Durham 61 & 34-6

Durham recorded their lowest ever County Championship score earlier today.

They might be on course to go even lower.

Neil Dexter and Mohammad Abbas have three wickets apiece as Durham have fallen to 34-6, needing 27 more just to match their earlier total.

  7. wicket

WICKET Briggs (lbw b Barker) 12published at 14:43 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Sussex 14-2 v Warwks 440

Keith Barker has done it again! He has 2-2!

Danny Briggs is the man to go this time as the makeshift opener can't get a bat on a straight one and is sent on his way.

Hm, already murmurings of whether or not Warwickshire will enforce the follow-on.

Let's park that for now. Harry Finch to bat next.

    Sussex 11-1 v Warwks 440

Keith Barker strikes early as the bowler strikes Phil Salt on the pads...

The batsman looks aggrieved to be given out but it's in the book now.

  14. Division Two round-uppublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

Here's the latest from our Division Two games away from Hove and Canterbury...

Durham have been asked to follow on after 5-23 from Mohammed Abbas routed the visitors for just 61 runs against Leicestershire at Grace Road.

They're faring little better second time round at 20-3 with openers Cameron Steel and Alex Lees already gone.

Graham Clark has just been caught by Ateeq Javid off the bowling of Neil Dexter for a three-ball duck.

    They trail by 240.

Derbyshire have slipped to 93-4 away to Middlesex at Lord's after centuries from Sam Robson and Max Holden helped the hosts reach 423.

Harvey Hosein was the last man out, lbw to Ethan Bamber for a second-ball duck.

Northants are 168-8 against Gloucestershire at Bristol, where the lead is a slender 43 runs.

Ryan Higgins has just dismissed Saif Zaib, bowled for two.

    Sussex 0-0 v Warwks 440

The bell has rung and the Sussex openers are on their way to the middle - possibly a bit earlier than they might have expected at lunchtime.

Tom Haines is unlikely to feature again after picking up an ankle injury on day one...

So who's opening? Danny Briggs comes in to open with Phil Salt.

Keith Barker to bowl from the Sea End.

  17. Surrey tear through Somersetpublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Surrey 485 v Somerset 42-6

Surrey are celebrating lifting winning the County Championship in some style.

Second-placed Somerset are 42-6, Conor McKerr having just taken two wickets in an over.

Tom Abell made 21 before being caught behind off Rikki Clarke, but no other batsman has reached double figures.

  18. Play to resume shortly at Headingleypublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Yorks 184 v Hants 156-9

    Good news.

The band of rain has come and gone and the covers are being removed.

If there's no more rain we'll be back underway at 14:40 BST.

WICKET Harmer (b Twohig 57)published at 14:17 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Worcestershire 94 v Essex 452-7

Worcestershire deserve some credit just for keeping going after a disastrous start to their match against Essex.

Simon Harmer is dismissed for 57, bowled as he swings and misses at a straight delivery from left-arm spinner Ben Twohig.

  20. Innings break at Hovepublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 19 September 2018

    Sussex v Warwks 440

Quite a dramatic turnaround at Hove and if the Sussex batsmen can get off to a good start parity or even a small lead is not out of the question.

Hats off to Jofra Archer, who ripped out the last four wickets in just a couple of overs.
