MTQ - what do you look at when you are running into bowl?

I look at nothing and everything. I keep a loose eye on the crease and where the batsman is. A lot of people look at a spot on the pitch but for me bowling is a feel thing. I don't look at anything in particular but try and look at a bit of everything. It is a personal preference.

  5. SL 84 -5published at 17 overs

    Dhananjaya 24 Thisara 2

Dhananjaya de Silva feeds off some more short stuff from Moeen Ali to find the boundary behind square leg, and from the final ball they steal a single as Moeen's attempt at some fancy footwork goes awry - he kicks the ball to midwicket instead of trapping it. Gareth Southgate won't be calling any time soon...

Boof! Dhananjaya de Silva takes advantage of a short one from Liam Dawson to despatch the spinner a long way over mid-wicket for six.

Dash Riprock - what's the benefit to bowling a wobble seam delivery instead of a 'traditional' seamer's one (ie-seam bolt upright)?

What I try and do with the wobble seam is when it pitches to hit the pitch on the edge of the seam. Hopefully the ball will then jag in one direction or the other.

    Perera 30 Dhananjaya 9

Kusal Perera looks in good nick, guiding Moeen Ali's to the point boundary from outside off. Dhananjaya de Silva then drops to one knee to flip the ball over his left shoulder, but it lacks pace and there's just a single.

First thing that's really clear between these two sides is the fielding. Sri Lanka were watching the ball to the boundary at times, but England look a different class.

Richard Milne: Once tried to play cricket on a strange flat spot in the Quirang, N. Skye, that used to be a favourite hiding place for sheep-rustlers. Game lasted 3 balls before the ball was lost over a cliff.

  20. SL 43-4published at 11 overs

    K Perera 11 Dhananjaya5

Kusal Perera greets Moeen Ali with a reverse sweep for four from his first ball, and off ball three it pops up into the offside just short of Jason Roy in the covers. The last delivery slips past the outside edge as England's grip tightens.
