The fact all of the locals seem to have done a runner and are nowhere to be seen suggests to me we might be in trouble here.
England win fourth ODI to clinch one-day series against Sri Lanka
Tourists win rain-hit match by 18 runs
Lead series 3-0 with one game to play
England 132-2 ahead of Duckworth-Lewis-Stern score when rain came
Roy 45, Root 32no and Morgan 31no
Shanaka top-scored with 66 for hosts
Matthew Henry and Jack Skelton
The fact all of the locals seem to have done a runner and are nowhere to be seen suggests to me we might be in trouble here.

On The Cricket Social the team is still discussing run-outs, the famous and the ridiculous.
The current focus is on those run-out on 99 - think Atherton in the Ashes etc.

The umbrellas are up in the stands and now most of the ground is covered by the big blue sheets.

It's raining quite steadily now and looks ominous for Sri Lanka with England ahead on DLS. It actually feels it should be raining more heavily than it is but it will take a while to resume given the size of the covers.
And now the rain comes down heavier. The groundstaff get a rush on.
A reminder - England are ahead on DLS so if the rain doesn't stop, they will win.
It doesn't look like it is actually raining yet. I think the umpires have given the groundstaff a bit of time to get the covers over the whole field before the torrential rain comes.
If it chucks it down before the covers are on then the match could well be over.
If this is the end of the match then England will win it and win the series.
The DLS par score is 114-2 and England are 132-2.

The covers are coming on. Who knows if this will be terminal for this match?
That's it. The groundstaff rush on with the big blue covers.
I'm going to have to live-text a Sri Lankan monsoon again, aren't I?
DLS par score 114-2
Dinesh Chandimal is putting a slip in to Dhananjaya de Silva. He knows he must take a wicket.
Excellent from Eoin Morgan. Block the decent balls, whack the bad ones. The final ball of the over is smashed to the fence.

It's a surreal situation for the batsmen, trying to work out if they'd still be ahead on DLS even if they lost a wicket. The key is just to keep accumulating and not lose any wickets.
It's like nighttime here, even though it's 15:45 local time.
It feels like the rain is very close.
The groundstaff are standing up. The crowd is drifting off for cover.
England are 17 runs ahead of the DLS par score.
Target 274
The ground currently looks like that scene in the film Independence Day. There's a huge black cloud above the pitch which has cast the full ground into darkness. Surely the rain will come soon.
Root and Morgan keep the singles ticking over and bring up the 50 partnership.
At the end of the next over the DLS score is 114-2 or 127-3. So if England lost a wicket now and then it rained we'd have a tie.
Thanks Jack.
England are on top but we have a game within a game.
Like Jack says, they are currently ahead on Duckworth-Lewis-Stern but a couple of wickets would change things.
DLS par score 107-2
Joe Root and Eoin Morgan do ensure England stay on top of the DLS target, tapping Dhanajaya de Silva around for five singles from the over.
If we somehow avoid rain, England need 150 runs from 150 balls.
For now, England are 17 runs ahead of the DLS par score.
To take you through the rest of the chase, here is Matt Henry...

Suddenly (and dramatically) the floodlights have taken over and the sky has darkened with these clouds moving in. A game within a game as England ensure they keep their noses ahead of the DLS par.

Twisted my ankle at a Heaven 17 gig on a Friday night. No problem, I thought, I'll bat with a runner on the Saturday - I was run out for 0!

DLS par score 103-2
Lasith Malinga is back into the attack and fizzes a wicked, lifting delivery just past Eoin Morgan's outside edge. The veteran appeals for caught behind but there is not much interest from his team-mates and that's not out.
A wicket would change things in a big way but for now England are ahead on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method.
