People are up on the ramparts of the forts cheering him home. There are hundreds, and there are hundreds, and Keaton Jennings has really played well. He saw three wickets fall this morning, kept his concentration and nailed it.

There is no reason why England shouldn't press the accelerator while is still the threat of rain about.

This could be really one of the fun sessions, if Keaton Jennings gets to his hundred early.

  8. Eng 218-4published at 74 overs

    Jennings 99, Buttler 19

Matt Foakes on the Frinton on sea Cricket Club mirror:

“On the dressing room mirror there is a saying “Mirror Mirror on the wall. Foakesy’s fairest of them all”.

"It came about because Ben - in particular - and myself - maybe a little bit - used to spend a fair amount of time pruning ourselves after games. So as we both kind of moved away and left the club, that’s their tribute to us”

  14. Kohli in troublepublished at 09:28 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2018

India cricket captain Virat Kohli is embroiled in controversy after lashing out at a cricket fan who said he preferred English and Australian batsmen to Indian players.

"I don't think you should live in India, go and live somewhere else," Kohli told him in a video recording.

He was responding to messages during the launch of his mobile app on Monday.

The video went viral and has prompted a torrent of criticism against Kohli on social media.

There is no chance of England declaring, you imagine. This lead is probably enough to win the game but I'd think they'd carry on and score another 100 runs.

    Amazing stuff.

    1. Would your mum or brother fly to Sri Lanka at a moment's notice to see you perform?
    2. Classic mum behaviour having her phone on silent. Love that.

Matt Foakes, brother of Ben on The Cricket Social on making the dash to Sri Lanka:

“On Monday morning I was sat there at my desk ready for a week at work when Ben sent me a text message to say that he was making his Test debut. So I booked a flight and within half an hour left my desk straight to Heathrow and got here Tuesday night.

"Wednesday morning I got to the ground just in time to see him make those magical last few runs. I think I probably gave the loudest screech as he played that little back foot drive. I think I was more nervous than him. I had dinner with him the night before and he wasn’t nervous at all. I shed a quick tear, just incredibly happy I could be here for it”

Mother Fi, who didn’t quite get to Galle in time:

“I got the text as well. But unfortunately it was two hours later because my phone was on silent. Unlike Matthew I don’t live near an airport, but I booked some flights on the train and managed to get on my way.

"He was very considerate because I was in Dubai and had wifi so managed to find out he’d made a hundred and that was amazing”

Hello all - Keaton Jennings hasn't got his hundred just yet but Ben Foakes did the other day, and his brother and mum made a late dash to Sri Lanka...

With Keaton Jennings sat in the dressing room trying to force down an energy bar, I'm going to hand back to Tom Rostance.

He'll take you through the final session and potentially Jennings' century.

The frustrating things is England's top order haven't played like Jennings and Stokes did and I don't know why not.

It was frenetic again. You don't get run-out playing a sharp single to mid-on when you are planning to bat all day. There was a tiny sniff for Sri Lanka when Burns did that and Moeen just hit one to the fielder.

That is why I was grumpy when England batted this morning.

Sri Lanka are pretty ordinary but they still need to be beaten. You don't let them get back in the game.
