  1. WI 18-0published at 4.1 overs

Chris Woakes gets on through on to John Campbell's pads.

Big appeal from England but nothing doing.

Eoin Morgan opts against the review. Looked to be going over or umpire's call at best.

  2. WI 18-0published at 4 overs

Messrs Woakes and Wood have both quickly worked out that accuracy and variation are going to be key on this pitch. No lateral movement or variable bounce on offer and not much pace in it either.

Wood is spot on with his second over, limiting John Campbell to just a single and sending down four dot balls at Chris Gayle.

  4. WI 17-0published at 3 overs

    Gayle 3, Campbell 12

Chris Woakes is mixing up his lengths and pace, banging down a slower-ball bouncer before another short-pitched one that Chris Gayle anticipates and taps down to third man for one.

Yeesh! Another slower ball from Woakes and John Campbell nearly chops it onto his stumps. The ball zips away for four though. Hands on heads for England.

I wouldn't accept a biscuit from Simon if it was the colour of this pitch.

The pitch doesn't have a hint of green on it at all - it just looks like rolled mud. It is uniformly biscuit brown.

  7. WI 9-0published at 2 overs

Mark Wood bangs it in with plenty of aggression but that's a touch too short and is called wide on height.

Chris Gayle gets off the mark, tapping a single round the corner before John Campbell pulls away for a couple more.

A fine finish from Wood, beating Campbell for pace and striking him on the thighs.

  8. WI 5-0published at 1.1 overs

Mark Wood to open with Chris Woakes and he gets his first ball to shape back in to Chris Gayle.

Gayle leaves on length and it strikes his thigh. A strangled appeal from Wood but that was going well over the stumps.

  9. WI 5-0published at 1 over

West Indies get off the mark with a leg bye as Chris Woakes strays onto Chris Gayle's pads.

Debutant John Campbell slices away but can only pick out point.

Campbell then punches deliciously down the ground for four, rather spoiling what had been a fine opening over by Woakes.

  10. WI 0-0published at 0.1 overs

Oooh. Chris Woakes is on the money with his first ball, pushing it across and just wide of off stump.

Chris Gayle reads it right and leaves it alone but that's the line for Woakes.

West Indies opener Chris Gayle, speaking to Sky Sports, on facing England pace bowler Mark Wood: "I have a light bat, and hopefully it can do a bit of talking rather than the ball coming at my head. It will be a good contest out there in the middle."

  19. England 'would have bowled first'published at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2019

West Indies v England (15:00 GMT)

England captain Eoin Morgan: "We probably would have looked to bowl.

"The pitch does look very good - probably better than the Test match pitch. I played a bit here for Barbados last year.

"Alex Hales misses out and Jos Buttler comes back in, so we're at full strength.

"We only have 11 games between the first World Cup game. Over the last few years we have experimented. This year is about winning, and adapting to different conditions and expressing our game."

The hosts hand ODI debuts to opener John Campbell, who featured during the Test series, and batsman Nicholas Pooran, who can keep but Shai Hope has the gloves.

West Indies: Chris Gayle, John Campbell, Shai Hope, Darren Bravo, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, Jason Holder, Carlos Brathwaite, Ashley Nurse, Devendra Bishoo, Oshane Thomas.

England are pretty much as you'd expect, though Mark Wood is preferred to David Willey and Tom Curran.

England: Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood.
