    Morgan c Wilson b Little 0 (Eng 46-3)

Hello. Eoin Morgan is trudging off. England in more than a spot of bother.

It's a tremendously well-directed bouncer from Josh Little that rushes the England captain.

Morgan leaves his gloves up there as he fends loosely at it and the ball flicks up off one on its way through to Gary Wilson.

Delirious celebrations for Ireland. A massive wicket.

Robert Laycock: Good catch but how many more times are we going to hear James Vince was playing so well as he walks off having scored less than 30?

    Target 199

Eoin Morgan defends his first delivery. Not exactly a raucous reception for the Irish England captain in Malahide.

Yep. Three reds on ball tracking. Joe Root was bang to rights.

That's a wicket you see on a Saturday afternoon in club cricket - the ball nipping back and hitting the batsman on the shin.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 8.5 overs

    Root lbw b Murtagh 7 (Eng 41-2)

Pinned him in front! Joe Root is gone!

Tim Murtagh was brought back on to threaten that front pad of Root and duly gets his man.

Another naggingly accurate delivery that just nips back past the bat and into the front leg. Massive appeal, given.

Root discusses a review with Dawid Malan but opts against it. Wisely, I reckon. That looked dead on.

  8. Eng 41-1published at 8.2 overs

Joe Root inside edges for a couple but is more convincing as he then gets forward to clip crisply through wide mid-on for four.

When George Dockrell came into the Ireland team he was one of the worst fielders in there. Now, through hard work, he's one of the best.

That is a superb catch. There was nothing special about the ball, but there was something special about the catch. Terrific!

    Vince c Dockrell b Little 18 (Eng 34-1)

    WHAT A BELTING CATCH!

Josh Little bangs it in halfway down and James Vince absolutely leathers a pull shot out towards mid-wicket.

It looks nailed on for a boundary leaving the bat but George Dockrell dives to his left, taking an immense catch two-handed, the ball almost behind him as he plucked it.

Vince departs after another promising start. You can't legislate for those sort of catches though.

  14. Eng 34-0published at 7.1 overs

You know that James Vince cover drive that means you never want to give up on him, no matter how many times he nicks off after a good start?

    Yeah, that. Four runs.

  15. Eng 30-0published at 7 overs

    Target 199

Superb accuracy from Tim Murtagh with three dot balls in a row before James Vince finds a gap in the leg side and scurries a single.

  16. Eng 29-0published at 6.3 overs

Tim Murtagh gets it onto James Vince's pads. Big appeal but not given.

    Review? No. Perhaps going over.

  17. Eng 28-0published at 6.1 overs

Hit out or get out. Dawid Malan skips down the pitch and slices a booming drive away over point for four.

Gary Wilson looks to come up to the stumps for the next ball but is sent back.

Right, that's me done for the day. Jack Skelton will take you through the business end of proceedings.

  19. Eng 24-0published at 6 overs

    Target 199

Dawid Malan is doing a lot of marching up and down at the non striker's end, trying to loosen himself up.

Shot! Oh, James Vince. A lovely cover drive goes flying away for four. Vince ends the over with another free-flowing drive to the boundary rope.

  20. Eng 16-0published at 5 overs

    Target 199

Tim Murtagh continues, two slips lurking, and he only concedes two miserly singles.
