Maybe that's what Malan is going to do. No running, just play some shots.

Malan 9, Vince 4
Dawid Malan sticks to his hitting-and-not-running theory, and he pops a leading edge up into the air that somehow flies over the head of third man.
Vince meets the final ball of the over with a firm push, but he can't beat the man on the edge of the circle.
And what do you do if you can't run?
You stand there and smash the ball through the covers for four. Lovely.

Dawid Malan isn't running very well. He's moving like I would out there.
Dawid Malan isn't looking completely comfortable, but he's going to carry on.
He's called through for a leisurely single by James Vince.
I'm no physio but it looks like a groin problem to me.
Malan takes a few tentative steps towards his bat and starts swishing it around, albeit a little gingerly.
The physio has come out for Dawid Malan and is going through some stretches.
It looked as though he felt something as he came running through for a single and moved to slide his bat home.

There are no runners these days of course. This will be very disappointing for Dawid Malan if he can't carry on. He's waited a long time for his ODI debut.
Dawid Malan has an ugly grope at a wide Mark Adair delivery, but he hustles a single before calling to the dressing room.
Now then. Has Malan felt something in his hamstring? He's looking a touch uncomfortable.

You look at that defensive drive from James Vince and you can't help but purr. He always looks such a fine player.
Target 199
Excellent running from James Vince allows him and Dawid Malan to steal a sneaky single, and the two happily work their way through this latest Tim Murtagh over.
VInce 2, Malan 1
James Vince flashes outside his off stump but gets enough bat on ball to go wide of the slip fielders and pick up a single.
He and Dawid Malan exchange singles, before Vince's outside edge is beaten by an Adair outswinger.
It's looking a little gloomy out in the middle, you know...
Right-armer Mark Adair, fresh from his entertaining 32 with the bat, will share new ball duties.
There's half a yell against Dawid Malan as he's thwacked on the knee roll by Tim Murtagh, but I reckon a few steps down the pitch has saved him there.
Trevor Bayliss has shunned his trademark floppy hat for a beanie, if you were wondering how cold it is.

It's really important for Ireland that they make a good start. It's not a big target and one you feel that England will easily overhaul.
Target 199
Tim Murtagh will open the bowling for Ireland, and James Vince scampers a single straight away.
Right then.
England's new-look - albeit temporary - opening partnership of James Vince and Dawid Malan will get things going.

Play will get started again in about 10 minutes or so.
We're currently watching highlight from that Ireland v England World Cup match in 2011. Kevin O'Brien smashing the ball to all parts with pink hair will always be my favourite bit of that game.
