    Runs!

Fakhar Zaman is on the charge. First he streakily gets one down to fine on the pull again. He then steps away and a good old heave beats short fine leg. Pakistan know they'll have to score a few to trouble England on this pitch.

Full doesn't look to be the way to go here!

Mark Wood may be quick but Fakhar still whacks the ball over the tiny mid-wicket boundary.

The ball has taken a beating on the concrete behind the advertising boards too. The umpires are changing it for another.

    Broad

Stuart Broad is on the cover of Notts' in-house magazine, looking like Rodney Trotter after being conned into buying a coat from Del Boy.

  4. Pak 34-0published at 7 overs

Jofra Archer still looks completely unflustered despite the three boundaries he has conceded. I think it'll take a lot to get Archer out of his usual chilled state. A bouncer at 91.4mph has Fakhar hopping a little.

Having a slip seems quite a hopeful position on this pitch...

It's like a front-foot Fakhar plays - one leg down the track then he just hoicks it.

  7. Pak 31-0published at 6.2 overs

Fakhar Zaman now gets a boundary away off Archer. He heaves across the line and gets the ball to the deep square leg boundary. That forces stand-in England captain Jos Buttler to push a fielder back onto the boundary.

With one-day pitches here at Trent Bridge, the ball really does bounce nicely so its just above stump height. If you get any width you don't have to move your feet, you just throw your hands at it and you can crunch it for four.

  9. Pak 27-0published at 6 overs

    Babar 17, Fakhar 11

Mark Wood is averaging 90.4mph so far. Jofra Archer is a little slower at 87.1mph. We saw earlier in this series that Archer can crank it up to 94mph. He hasn't quite got up to speed as yet.

That was a shot of sumptuous quality.

Pakistan might just be getting to grips with England's express pace. This time Babar gets on the back foot and punches Wood gloriously through the covers.

You'd find that shot in any old-school textbook. Perfect.

That's a wonderful shot. He opened himself up ever so slightly then just flicked his wrists to get the ball away.

    Oh shot!

Short but not quite as wide from Archer and Babar leans back and upper cuts the England quick over wide third man for six. Archer just has a little chuckle to himself. He must be at least a little impressed by that shot.

This is definitely another good pitch at Trent Bridge.

  14. Pak 16-0published at 4.4 overs

That's Jofra Archer's first loose delivery. Short and wide and Babar cuts hard through the covers for four.

  15. Pak 12-0published at 4 overs

    Fakhar 6, Babar 3

Babar Azam doesn't look fully comfortable facing a bouncer from Wood but still goes for a pull. He fails to connect properly and only chips the ball over mid-wicket. The new batsman collects a couple before jogging a single to end the over.

  16. Pak 9-0published at 3.3 overs

New batsman Babar Azam is greeted with a 91.9mph delivery from Mark Wood.

    Imam-ul-Haq 3 (Pak 9-0)

That's no great surprise. Imam-ul-Haq has been forced to leave the field.

Let's hope there's no lasting damage that would put his World Cup in doubt.

The England players have all come together in a huddle. The delay continues.

Imam is at least on his feet but he's holding his arm very loosely by his side.

You get shooting pains down to your fingers. Your arm feels like someone else's for about five minutes. It's horrible.

On comes the physio. Imam is writhing in pain.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't have to retire hurt here.
