It's one of those body blows that it hits at the wrong point, your arm will go numb, your whole body will go numb.

That's hit him right on the point of the elbow and there could be all sorts of problems. He's in all sorts of trouble.

  3. ouch!

    Pak 9-0published at 3.2 overs

This has hurt Imam-ul-Haq. It's another quick, short delivery from Mark Wood. It has hit Imam flush on the left elbow.

The opener rushes away from the stumps and then folds over on his knees with his head on the turf.

Imam could be in big trouble here.

Shame England didn't bat first. Had made an agreement with myself that if they hit 400 I'd abandon revision and get down to the pub.

    Imam 3, Fakhar 6

When was the last time England had two 90mph bowlers opening the bowling? Freddie Flintoff and Steve Harmison?

Jofra Archer's second over ends with an absolute ripper to beat Fakhar. Only one from the over.

    Archer's good.

It's interesting to see the two different ways of bowling 90mph - the lithe athleticism of Jofra Archer and the energy, power-in-the-shoulders style of Mark Wood.

  7. Pak 8-0published at 2 overs

    Imam 2, Fakhar 6

That's a very good first over from Mark Wood. It could have been a wicket maiden. The only runs are that top edge and he was regularly in excess of 90mph.

It's 1-0 to Wood in the pace stakes between him and Archer after one over each.

One of the downsides of bowling at 92mph is that top edges tend to go for six.

  9. 6 runs

    Pak 8-0published at 1.4 overs

Mark Wood's quick start almost gets him an early wicket but instead it costs him six runs. A bouncer is too quick for Fakhar but a top edge flies over Jos Buttler and carries all the way.

    Graeme Swann
Ex-England spinner on TMS (in his first appearance since appearing on Strictly Come Dancing)

Strictly was 10 times more fun than I imagined. I got the familiar feeling of butterflies - from the nerves and excitement - on the eve of the first show, which I had during my cricket career. The only thing is, I had faith in my cricketing ability during my career. I didn't have any in my dancing...

  11. Pak 2-0published at 1.3 overs

Mark Wood has hardly bowled this summer but his second delivery is 91mph. His third is 92mph.

    Exciting.

It will be England's rapid duo to start. Mark Wood will charge in from the other end.

  14. Pak 2-0published at 1 over

    Imam 2, Fakhar 0

Pakistan's first runs come courtesy of a tuck off Imam's hip. It looks chilly out there with most of the England players wearing their long-sleeved shirts.

The Pakistan openers are watchful to Archer's first over which is bowled at around 87mph.

  15. Pak 0-0published at 0.1 overs

Archer's first delivery nips away off the pitch and beats Imam-ul-Haq's bat.

Imam scored 151 in the last game.

I think Ben Stokes needs more time in the middle. If they really are keen on having Joe Denly in the World Cup squad, put him at number three today. Joe Root's had enough batting and Denly needs a good opportunity out in the middle.

Let's hope Wood is fully fit because then this next hour could be pretty exciting.

England will have 90mph bowlers from both ends with the Durham quick and Jofra Archer in the team.

David Willey might still get the new ball in the World Cup though.

    Michael Vaughan
    Ex-England captain on TMS

If Mark Wood gets through these two games, it's going to be a close call - you'd have to say Tom Curran might miss out. Wood is vulnerable because of his injury but he does have pace, which is what you need with the white ball.

Eoin Morgan said after the last match that England would play on a more difficult pitch in one of these two matches to help them prepare for the World Cup.

Could Trent Bridge surprise us all today?

    We'll find out soon.
