The short ball has been the most effective ball. You don't want to make it too obvious but as a surprise ball it has been working.
England win by 54 runs - Woakes takes 5-54
Pakistan's collapse from 152-3 began with Rashid's fine run-out of Babar (80)
Leg-spinner then took excellent return catch to dismiss Malik
Buttler completes trio of special feats in field with superb run-out of Sarfaraz (97)
England 351-9: Root (84) & Morgan (76) put on 117 for third wicket

Jos Buttler's got lucky, here - a big swing at a short ball sends a top edge flying down to third man, but it lands inbetween the fielder and keeper, and Buttler can nab a single instead.
Drinks over and done with, and Mohammad Hasnain will return to the attack.
His first five overs went for 50, but he's had a change of ends.

The only way England don't win this World Cup is if we have a ridiculous dry spell and the pitches become dry and worn and a paradise for spinners. As good as they are I can imagine our top order being undone by a Rashid Khan or a Kuldeep Yadav or a Shadab Khan.

Joe Root works a single, but this is an excellent comeback from Imad Wasim, keeping Jos Buttler quiet.
That'll be drinks.

It is very, very good batting from Joe Root.
There's that dinky little scoop shot from Joe Root, getting down ad flicking the ball past Sarfaraz Ahmed, and it races down the hill for four.
Imad Wasim is back into the attack in place of Hassan Ali.
Shaheen Afridi has had some short ball success today.
Root 78, Buttler 20
Shaheen Afridi gets a yorker wrong and Jos Buttler gets enough bat on ball to push a couple of runs down the ground.
A ripper of a short ball, climbing on Buttler and forcing him to drop his hands and yank his head out of the way, keeps Buttler quiet.
I sometimes wonder if Jos Buttler is real.
This is an astonishing shot, Buttler taking an attempted leg cutter from Shaheen Afridi and he waits, leaning back before jabbing it over deep mid-wicket for his first six.

This is how TMS scorer Andy Zaltzman sets up for a day at the cricket...
I wonder what all the bowlers who are heading over here for the World Cup make of these pitches? They'd be better off dressing up a bowling machine in their national kit and sending that out to open the bowling.
That said, this is excellent from Hassan Ali, wrongfooting Jos Buttler with a slower ball yorker, and England will have to settle for three from the over.
This is a promising sight for England with the World Cup just 11 days away.
Buttler 12, Root 74
Joe Root continues on his busy way, dropping and nudging the singles here and there, while Jos Buttler ends the over with aplomb with a brutal pull against a shorter ball that races for four.
The short ball has worked twice for Pakistan today but, er, they've been clonked around the ground as well.
Hello, is this a drop?
Shaheen Afridi trails down the leg side and Jos Buttler goes after it. There's a clunky sound - is it bat, or is it thigh pad? - and Sarfaraz, diving to his left, fumbles. Hmm.
Shot!
Oh, Jos Buttler. This is nothing more than a little push, those wrists spinning and working the ball down the ground for four.

I came with a spring in my step today because I didn't have the pressures of being invested as a coach. It's nice to come along and enjoy the game.
Run rate 7.35
Nice and steady from England, just rebuilding after the loss of Eoin Morgan, although Jos Buttler has a violent swipe across the line and the ball trickles off the under edge of the bat to the fielder at mid-on.
Sarfaraz looks agonised as Hassan swings a wide down the leg side, but this is a good, tidy over from the right-armer, and England can only pinch a few runs from it.
Hassan Ali, whose earlier four overs went for 31 runs, is back.
