Sarfaraz looks uneasy at being kept down at the batting end. He tries to run a single when one is not there.

Jos Buttler takes the ball and whips off the bails. We're going to check for a run-out.

  2. Pak 140-3published at 24.3 overs

Three dots from Rashid to Sarfaraz. Will he try something big?

Sarfaraz averages 62 in 15 ODIs against England. This is his fourth half-century in 12 innings against them, and there was that one hundred at Lord's in 2016.

  4. Pak 140-3published at 24 overs

    Target 352

Jos Buttler is trying to keep England's spirits high behind the stumps. He chirps some encouragement to Moeen Ali.

Sarfaraz goes for the big heave. It almost costs him. He slices an inside edge between his legs for one.

  5. Pak 135-3published at 23 overs

    Target 352

The required run-rate isn't budging from around eight runs an over. That's manageable in this day and age but England will know a couple more of wickets and they'll be well in control.

  6. 6 runs

    Pak 131-3published at 22.2 overs

That's Adil Rasid's first bad delivery. It pitches halfway down and goes down the leg side. Babar hoists it away for six. The Pakistan flags start to wave a little more confidently.

The only thing in Pakistan's favour here is that you feel England left 20-30 runs out there in the period when the spinners tied them down. If they can get to 40 overs with wickets in hand, you never know.

  8. 50 runs

50 for Sarfarazpublished at 22 overs

The Pakistan captain reaches his first half-century of the season with a very well run two. This partnership is now worth 119. It has got Pakistan back in the game.

In England's innings, the Pakistan seamers went for 7.82 an over and the spinners for 5.90. We're into that period of the game with Pakistan now.

  10. Pak 112-3published at 21.3 overs

Babar Azam is taking a liking to Moeen Ali. There's a big space between long-on and deep square-leg and Babar plonks the ball into it before watching the ball skip over the boundary rope.

There's been some quirkier moments at Headingley today - broken roof tiles, crowd catches and 'magic' acts from behind the sightscreens. Watch them all here...

  12. Pak 116-3published at 21 overs

Sarfaraz has scored a lot of his runs behind the wicket today, guiding the ball down to third man and fine leg.

He has played himself in. Can he take his side home?

Adil Rashid keeps things tight. Four singles from the over.

  13. Pak 112-3published at 20 overs

Sarfaraz has tossed away the helmet and is batting in a cap. I'm sure batsman these days just do that as a way of saying 'I love playing against spin'. Babar proves he can do just with another boundary at the end of Moeen's over despite the best efforts of Chris Woakes on the boundary.

Adil Rashid is bowling a nice inbetween speed - it's not flat, but there's not too much air.

  15. Pak 104-3published at 19 overs

It's spin from both ends now for England as Adil Rashid joins his good mate Moeen Ali in the attack.

Rashid only has the one wicket in this series so far but has bowled on some very flat pitches.

He tries a googly but Sarfaraz reads it and chops it to the rope. That is needed because the required rate has crept up to eight.

When it comes to rotation of strike, Sarfaraz is one of the best in the business - certainly in Test cricket.

  17. Pak 98-3published at 18 overs

    Target 352

No wicket for Moeen in his first over and no real turn either. Is there any correlation between Moeen's wickets and the length of his hair? That's one for Andy Zaltzman.

50 for Babarpublished at 17.4 overs

Babar keeps ticking along. He's onto 50 from 59 balls. Decent knock but as yet he's not really worrying England.

With somebody like Sarafraz here, you think he's not played a shot and you look at his score and it's 37 off 30 balls.
